  • Purposely Over Training

Was thinking about this today. Not sure if its a thing already or not but basically as a shock every once in awhile just do a full body workout every day.

I've basically done this the last 2 days and I feel like I been through fucken war. Training muscle groups while their still sore and weak from the previous day is fucken brutal.

Probably not a bad idea for up to a week as long as the volume isn't too high to cause injury to tendons and ligaments. I bet your CNS is totally fried after a couple days though. Sounds painful.

Painful while doing it but once you get through it and take hot shower and finally collapse it feels good as hell.

Some truth to this especially when on AAS and your giving the body the food and sleep it needs.

Same rules don't apply for natty though.

For short periods, it's good to shock the system and try something new. Over longer periods, it's asking for an injury.

Everybody is different as well. Some guys could train the same body parts everyday and get huge. I knew a guy once all he did was bench every single day and he was a monster.

How many people can really get to the point of overtraining? I don't think you can really do it with light weight..all this talk these days of CNS overload and this and that, people use it as an excuse as to not push to the pain threshold or do more work, they pussy out on things thinking(or telling less experienced trainees that they will get overtrained)....I bet only a small percentage of people that workout really take it to the point of failure everytime. I think using extremely heavy weights for lengthy periods will get you there. but pushing past failure, heavy weights, negatives, those are the things that show the men from the boys when it comes to training. It is very very rare I see someone that can possibly over train..esp when on AAS and getting sleep and food in at a good rate. I think powerlifting and strongman might be the two sports that overtraining is very possible in, but I am not sure there is enough volume in PL to do so. Strongman on the other hand is insansely heavy weights for reps and distance, THIS will tax the CNS and overall body. Just my $0.02 though.

In Bouncers case he'll be fine fine but his body is conditioned for the abuse after many years of excercize. If you take someone who doesn't train at all and blast them like that they will quickly get injured. Injury can be from many things but also from overtraining.

Muscles recover at a much faster pace than tendons and ligaments which get little blood flow. This is very evident in grip sport. Guys that have been in the grip sport for years with hands as touch as steel still get injuries, not from improper technique but from lack of repair time. There are hundreds of ways of testing grip strength with different implements and people get carried away where certain connective tissues take too much abuse.

Grip sport is also an easy way to guage CNS condition as it heavily depends on it for dexterity. Fried CNS will dramatically reduce the amount of weight one can move in grip in short time compared to other body parts.

Antecdotally, a fool I work with can't pick up the weight of his own arm in certain directions for the last 2 months because he did bicep curls everyday for 3 weeks straight causing injury to something in his left forearm.

By defifition if you can under train then you can over train, but I do agree that most will not get to that point.

Yea I agree with both. If your on AAS and have your body conditioned from years of training then its very hard to over train.

BUT, if natty and you've just started training you should be more careful.

If your new to training just lifting normally will shock your system. Just don't get caught up doing the same shit for years.
