  • Do I need personal trainer courses to get bodybuilding trainer's insurance?

I am a former competitive bodybuilder and am about to start a new career as a personal trainer focusing on bodybuilding, weight training, and strength and sports conditioning.

Will the fact that I have experience as a professional bodybuilder mean that I can get insurance cover in case someone gets hurt and files a claim against me, or will I need to do a recognized personal trainer course in order to be given insurance?

Based off of what I have read (and would make the most sense), you must become certified.

You need qualification. Being a former bodybuilder means pretty much nothing.

Just because you have injected yourself with many steroids, it does not make you a nurse

especially if you go where the money is, you are not going to get bodybuilders to train with you, cause they all know what they are doing..LOL.
Its the everyday joe that needs a trainer the most and athletes, but you need a lot of specialized training and certs to know that stuff.
Being a bodybuilder means dick in the real world, it only means something in the bodybuilding world. Just like the judges and "important" people in the NPC, they are nobodies in the real world, they like to extend their "power trip" over bodybuilders.

Sorry that was kind of off topic..get a legit certification, your best bet is getting your CSCS, at least to me that is the most interesting and has the most merit.
