  • ulna pain

I was doing standing military press last night and hit failure. I thought I would bring it down to my chest and walk it forward to rack like I always have done but it slipped off my chest and I pushed it on the rack quickly. It tweaked my left wrist.

It hurts a little when I type but hurts more when I articulate my wrist or grip something. The pain begins where the ulna meets the wrist and travels up the ulna about two inches. I am planning on wrapping it and hitting some bicep and triceps exercises tonight, I should not need to rest it should I?

If it was me I would be icing it and take some anti inflammatory/pain killers and give it a couple days with no activity (maybe hit legs) and see if it improves. If there isn't any improvement then I would be seeing the doctor.

But I wonder, if I stretched a tendon like I think I did, if I wrap it tight with some writs straps so my wrist cannot move, I should be able to workout still correct? Gripping is my concern though; if I cup my fingers and pull on them it hurts the area mentioned before.

As it is now, if it isn't damaged it has a great potential to be damaged in its weakened state. I wouldn't risk it.

small injury can turn into big one really quick. you'd be smart to take it easy bro.

My guess is, it's just a bruised/inflamed muscle on the forearm that is causing a pull around the wrist because of the impact.
I hit my shin on a machine last week right on the tendon that attaches the tibialis anterior the ankle and couldn't move my foot for two days.
            This is where I hit.

And guessing where you hit is right where the muscle starts in the picture so it's causing a pull.

Beast, I did not hit it with the bar. Instead of letting it drop like I should have I kept a hold of it as it was falling and pushed it forward onto the rack.

Also, the pain is on the side and not the top, to the left of that muscle.

I decided it would be best to let it heal for a couple days, it's feeling a lot better but I'm still having a little bit of pain and my grip strength is not at 100 percent. I am thinking tomorrow I will do a bit of chest, wrapping my wrist well, and see how it feels.
