I know the feeling. I know I need rest but I work part time at my gym so I usually do something on top of my normal workout. Plus I MMA train ( kickbox/box/ BJJ) 3-5 time a week. I have felt drained here lately. It finally caught up to me and I blew out a shoulder 3 months ago. Ill be down a minimum of 3-6 months.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostPretty much since I moved out here I've been doing full body workout about 3 times per week. Lifting heavy while keeping form strict and doing 1 or 2 movements per muscle groups. I change up the movements but I hit the same muscle groups 3 times a week.
It's fucking hard and if you maintain your intensity level through the workout you will be destroyed by the end.
On top of this I've been walking about 15 miles per week with my dogs in the heat at the park.
For awhile I was seeing results from this new style of training and cardio. Was looking more pumped and burning more fat. These results lasted about 2 months and then I hit a wall. My nervous system is fried and today at the gym I was weak as fuck and flat as a pancake.
Looks like its time to go back to 1 muscle group per session type training. I don't regret switching things up to the extreme but I will take the lesson of doing it for too long to heart. I think if I do it again I would do 4 weeks max.
