I just keep an Excel spreadsheet on my computer. I have a tab for each body part (chest, shoulders, arms, legs) and for each day, I add line items by exercise and poundage, reps, sets, etc.Originally posted by beochie

Every day I write down my poundage goals on a piece of paper and take it to the gym so that I can remember what I am going to try to achieve. I also write down what I actually did and enter that back in my spreadsheet when I get back. I can then use this information to set goals for my next workout for that bodypart.

Right now my logs are almost everything. I just started about 3 1/2 months ago, and I'm not seeing too much in the mirror. But when I look back at my logs, and realize how much more I'm lifting in every category, I know that it's just going to take some time. I also record my measurements once a week, and it's nice to look back and see the gains in size that I can't see in the mirror.
But hey, if you're getting the best results you've ever had right now, then why change it?
