        Well for a start it's not over half a ton because it's not over 500kg.

        Secondly he went on to squat his heaviest ever later last year, here https://youtu.be/FTbp3JdEoI4

        So as things stand this is the heaviest all time squat; raw (unequipped (no lifting bodysuit)), but with knee wraps.

        That previous sentence indicates just how complicated powerlifting has become.

        The fact that something can be called raw, but yet you're still wearing a belt and knee wraps is complicated enough albeit understandable because in the squat a belt and some form of knee protection is mandatory health wise and it's otherwise the suit that gives most assistance.

        Andrew is definitely the greatest squatter in my opinion. One should note that steve goggins, andy bolton, donnie thompson and more recently Blaine summer have all squatted over 500 kg but they all used lifting suits.

          Should also be noted Andrey lifted that as part of a full meet https://youtu.be/qkuiKO3UDII

            Nothing wrong with some wraps considering weight.

            Impressive

              480kg = 1058lbs

              Half a ton = 1000lbs

              A ton = 2000lbs

              Unless a ton means something different in the UK? In the US a ton is exactly 2000lbs.

                Yup, the definition of a ton is different between US and UK.

                          You would never ever use ton to express a number with a 2 in it.

                          Clearly some dumb duck thought there was only 2 lb to a kg where in fact there is 2.2
