  • LOOK WE'RE ALL HUMAN (ALL MEN anyway)

I posted a thread and Kir was the only one to come clean. I drink alot like most killers in the woods do and I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that a good % of you guys and gals drink to. All I want to know is how it effects your training. Good / bad or what. I drink like a fish get up do my thang wherever it is. All I do is my job, lift, drink, eat and sleep. AAS is a possible because I'm old and peaking but drinking and AAS ain't all that good so help me out. If you're like me lift, look good and can do your job let me know. If it's a bad thing, let me know. If you drank some "get tough juice" and it got you no where let me know thanks. I thank Kir for being real I need more knowledge like that.

Well I have definately knocked a few back. I find that when I have hit the bottle pretty hard (at least 3 times a week, and until shit faced)) I really dont make much in the way of gains. My size and strength basically stall out. When I am on the juice and drink I still make gains but they are not as good as when I am keeping it chill. I am actually cutting the drinking out here for awhile. My next cycle is gonna include some D-bol and maybe winni so I am giving my liver a little break. Plus I have made some pretty decent gains while drinking/ juicin. I want to see how I get along without my buddy Jack, or Jim, or Capt, or Jose....

I drank for 33 years and I have been homeless and was pronounced dead on 3 different occasions due to drug overdoses.I have a long story, but in my case it damn near killed me.I now have 46 trophies in bodybuilding and powerlifting but my biggest accomplishment in life was getting my life back on track.Alcoholism is a progressive disease ,it only gets worse whether you want to beleive this or not.I tried to quit a zillion times, as I knew I was killing myself but it was a bitch to stop.I was a chronicaly depressed person, and most daily drinking is caused by other outside influences. Are you happy? I doubt it.Get help before it`s too late bro,it may sound corny but I`ve been on the streets of some mean cities and it don`t get better ,only worse.I`ve been sober a good while now and dealing with reality is a bitch, but it`s better than a permanent dirt nap, which is what booze will give you.A few drinks is cool, but as a bodybuilder you can`t mix the two and expect good results ,beleive me I tried a zillion times.Good luck, you`ll need it bro!

I get extremely lethargic after a night of drinking.... and for several days after... I have been drinking much more lately than usual.... partying more, working more, lifting less, eating less...... and ive lost 19 pounds of LBM.... time to quit drinking and get my life back in order

i too drink, i am really focused lately on lifting and after a night of drinking i just dont have the intensity in my workouts. i will still party for special occasions, but drinking everynight is a thing of the past for me.

I find even if I have just a couple of beers I feel it the next day in the gym and can't do a damn thing. Not to mention you get fat. I don't care if all you drink is that new "No Carb" beer, it still useless calories.

I prefer to remember having sex is why I quit drinking.:agree:

No, seriously. I decided that what I want for my goals is more important & quit. My gains have been great since then. maybe the younger folks here can get away with it, but at my age & being a woman, the calorie thing is too big an issue. I tried just getting all my carbs from beer only, but it didn't work!

i don't drink at all, haven't for years. has nothing to do with working out. just completely screwed up my quality of life and nothing good really happened for me until i quit partying. i'm just one of those people who can't drink AND grow up or reach any goals at the same time. little things like OH graduating from college, doing the laundry, developing a personality or some self-respect - that kind of stuff.

Trying to quit (cut back) now. Sort of a new years resolution I guess. I usually drink anywhere from 2 -4 cases of beer in a weekend or a few bottles of whiskey. It really hinders my gains. Im going to cut it back...way back.

most of us work too hard in the gym to throw it all away by drinking every night.

if youre gonna make the decision to hit the gym in an effort for a better looking body then commit to it.......dont do it half assed.

big bump there it's all about diet sleep and training, half assing any of those and you will find your gains slipping away.

w/ your alcohol intake the way it is, and a body like roy jones as you said in your earlier post, imagine what you'd be like w/o that in your body. alcohol is a solvent, to your body, and in my case, to a few years worth of gains i could've made, some goals i might've accomplished earlier, and quite a bit of money.... sigh....
