  • 30 sets of legs!?!?!?!

    Are you for real? Someone on another board said I wasn't growing cause I don't do 30 sets of legs in one work out. Not to mention, he claims it only takes him an hour to do it.

    Am I the only one that thinks this is NUTS?!?!?!

    ive done about twenty in an hour. but i had to crawl outta the gym. hes probably counting the sets he does for calves too.

      I've done 20 in an hour or more, with calves, and I could barely walk out of the gym.

        HE must be on some good gear. Natural guys will burn out on that before long.

          I do about 20-25 sets counting calves, takes an hour, but I don't use real heavy weight, my lower body is so sore for the next 3 days though.

            If he did 30 sets for his legs his intensity was shit or he is a genetic freak. You can grow fine on less than half that amount esp. if you keep your w/o's intense.

              hey does anyone have any advice on how i could hammer my legs better. Im doing about 15 sets but still i dont get a burn the next day. The problem is that im currently living in south america where it is 40 plus degrees out, meaning that my endurance in the gym is shot. is there a good way to hammer your legs in under 10 major sets¿

                1 and a 1/2's make me burn. I throw them in every once in a while to shock my legs. Go all the way down then come up 1/2 way up, back down, then all the way up. That's 1 rep. Do 10-15 reps. Nice and controlled. do 3-5 sets of those, then 3-5 hack squats, leg extentions, leg curls. And you should be walkin a little funny.

                  i just did legs and i can hardly walk....and i rode my bike to and from the gym. (about 7 miles to and from) :D

                  i did:

                  5 sets of squats. 225/315/405/405/405
                  3 sets leg press. 630 each
                  3 sets leg ext.
                  3 sets seated leg curls
                  3 sets of free motion leg curls
                  4 sets of straight leg calf raises
                  4 sets of bent leg calf raises

                  took me just under an hour. 30 is possible but you would have to be running around like a madman and not resting long at all between sets.

                    i dont think 30 sets is crazy , it just depends on the person ,, i mean look at tom platz , the man trained like a maniac on his legs and he probably did more then 30 sets,, squating 225 for like 10min ,, its really up to you i do about 20 sets and it takes about an hour..

                      nah its not crazy. he' most likely and old lifter. they used to do 50-100 sets back in the day for chest and legs etc. i believe they trained for about 3-5 hours
