  • So, sonis and I....

Made a bet over the weekend. We gave each other 3 weeks to lose the most BF....and he thinks he's gonna win!!! HA!

This is gonna be soooo fun! I have to lose 2% over 3 weeks. He's gotta lose the same.

I started dieting hard today. Even going to go do some cardio at lunch!!! I'm no carbing for the next 3 weeks...2 carb meals a week.

You can't lose that much muscle in just 3 weeks. If your diet is where it needs to be as far as protein intake, muscle loss can be kept to a minimum

I understand now all the comments on RS's mood while dieting. I've been eating the way she recommended for contest prep and have no energy and am moody all the time, but the results are very evident, so its almost worth it!

                        lose muscle

I was training this one guy, who ended up 2d in the 2000 mr. connecticut masters...., that lost 8 lbs of lean muscle in 4 weeks....against my recommendation he overtrained in cardio... an lowered too rapidly is caloric intake.. It can be done..... just be careful...

I understand what you're saying. I know firsthand how muscle loss is eminent during a contest diet. But, I was really just doing a 5lb vanity diet for the most part.

How is that going for you?

                            How is the BF???

Has your LBM stayed pretty steady?

Sorry, I've been out of town for the past 10 days...

Well, I don't know how its supposed to go, but I have low energy most of the time. When I workout I somehow feel the same in terms of energy levels, so maybe some of it is mental. Today is the first day that I fell kinda sick, which I've been worrying about since I'm pushing myself hard without getting enough food.

I started at about 9.4%bf, 180lbs and am down to about 171. According to the calipers, I'm at about 7%bf. That would imply I've lost about 6lbs of fat and 3lbs of something else. I question whether its muscle mass because the first week I dropped several lbs, which I think was just water. I have heard that going to low carb diets, most people lose a lot of weight in water right away. Also, I don't seem to have lost any strength in the gym. My lifts are all at least as good as they were before I started cutting.

The only problem is that time is moving so slowly! I never thought that these two months would creep by so slowly.

I had one other question for you. When you're cutting, do you ever (are you supposed to ever) have a cheat meal? And if so, can it be anything or should it be a high carb or a high fat or what? Thanks.
