  • need to get back into this...

hi. well, i'm finally off my anti-depressant meds and while I was on those I was supposed to gain weight, but I didn't, but I didn't loose either...

My baby is now a year old, so my body is ready to let go of this weight....

    I'm 5'2" 140lbs.

Normally I am 120-128lbs... and would like to drop back to that.

Currently I've been running 3.5 miles a day on a treadmill... I run for 8 then walk for 4 till I hit 3.5 miles. It takes me about 35 minutes.

    Lifting:
Mon back & bi's - 3.5 mile run - sit ups at night
Tues chest & tri's - 3.5 mile run - sit ups at night
Wed shoulders - 3.5 mile run - sit ups at night
    Thurs off but sit ups
Friday back & bi's - 3.5 mile run - sit ups at night
Sat chest & tri - 3.5 mile run - sit ups
Sun shoulders - 3.5 mile run sit ups

I'm running 21 miles a week - wow... I don't lift on my legs because I also teach gymnastics and they are the biggest on me already, i'd love to loose inches in them... they measure 23.75" around at the tops - yuck! I would like for them to be more like 20" around, I don't think that is possible.

Eating... ugh, this is where I am off... I know you all are going to say I'm not eating enough. I know I also am not drinking enough water.

    Breakfast... I've been skipping... if I don't it's 2 soft boiled eggs
    No snack...
Luunch... chili from wendy's and a baked potato
    No snack
Dinner... usally a lean piece of meat and green veggies... last night i also had some rice

wow, Im not eating anything... lol - it's amazing i can survive. I haven't dropped a pound in over a month off my meds... if I don't in the next 2 weeks, I'm going to my doctor to have him run some tests...

    What do you all think?

You're starving your body...plain and simple.

Don't waste the money to go have tests done at the doctor when you know what the problem is. Your body needs a minimum of 800 cals a day in order to maintain existence. With the amount of running you are doing, working out, AND the bird-like eating habits, it's no wonder you're not losing. Your body is holding onto what you're putting in it because you are not feeding it nearly what it needs.

    You know better than this!

:agree: I suspect it's just a matter of needing to hear it from somebody else. It's hard to imagine how eating more can help weight loss, but you can't let your body think you're starving to death or it will do everything it can to preserve itself. Less time in the gym and more time in the kitchen is the recipe you need here... and I know you know that. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day--start the day with some quality carbs and protein to jumpstart your metabolism to let it burn some calories. I also am really fond of thermogenics to help keep the metabolism and energy up, even if it's nothing more than coffee before a workout. Good luck and glad to hear you're getting back into it!

thanks, I have been so frustrated lately, and thinking, what is wrong? and when I was typing it in, I'm like, I'm eating nothing... wow, right now it's 11:31 am and I haven't had anything except a cup of tea today. I'm hungry but I just try to not think about it... tomorrow, I'll pack snacks and totally start over.. I can't believe how little I'm eating... crazy

I haven't counted my exact calories, portion sizes, or the balance of how many g of protien, carbs, fat I'm taking in......yet. I do eat all day long though. Every 3-4 hours and breakfast is a biggie for me. In fact, I try to make it my biggest meal. Every couple of days I make a pot of oatmeal with raisens. Breakfast is approx 3/4 c oatmeal. A quick eggbeaters omelet with a couple of extra egg whites thrown in. And a banana right before I hit the gym. Post work-out, about 3 hours after breakfast, I have to force down a small protein shake. As the day goes on, my meals become more protein based.
I'm a mom, with a notorious sweet tooth so I do nibble on a graham cracker here and there, or eat the crusts off of the PB&J. I have started eliminating those extras.
I have actually lost 2 lbs in the past two weeks just by eating more food and cutting back on the bad stuff.

          EAT MORE FOOD!!!!!!

I am also 5'2 but I weigh 145lbs. Any idea what your bf% is?

well, I came down with bronchitus last week and I am still feeling the heavy lungs, so I have had to take some time off. Just as I was getting started. I was soooo sick last week, in bed for 4 straight days.

I am going to try and eat more... to me it's so hard. Especially when I look in the mirror. I've trained myself to not snack that I just really don't hardly eat. It works well, when I am at a weight I like to be at, but not when I am trying to loose.

Ugh... someday i'll be ready to do this... lol, I can't really exert myself now cause I cough and cough...

ok girls, I've been eating more food and low and behold, I've lost 2 pounds. I'm at 138 lbs. now and I am shooting for 125, but if I can make it to 120, that would be even better. I'll keep you posted on progress.
