Red, I just posted some new pics from last week in the "Contest of One" thread. I did a lot soul searching, researching, thinking, pondering, deliberating and decided that I really want to try bodybuilding. I may have the build right now for figure, but I want to do pose-downs.
I have been working on my diet. I think I may need to increase carbs because I've been losing about 2lbs a week with almost no cardio. My bf is down to 15% and I have 16 weeks until contest.
During this experience, I'll decide if I want to pursue BB with a passion and then train accordingly, beginning with adding more mass. It's difficult being natural but I love a challenge.
Thank you for your help and I hope you don't mind if I continue picking your brain.
Hi Red! Things are going very well. After much debate I decided on the next show which is only 3 weeks from this Saturday. I have been training hard and feel really good. I stopped winny last weekend - was starting to get lots of breakouts on my back and my voice was kind of raspy so I decided not to take anymore. I also stopped Var on Wednesday to give myself enough time before the show (winners are tested at this one).
My strength has really increased to a point where I have done more weight than ever. I have managed to stay pretty lean and hit 135lbs which is a great jump for me. I tried your training suggestion/split for a couple of weeks to shock my body and then have gone back to a more standard program with: Tuesday-back, Wednesday-quads/calves, Thursday-bi's/tri's, Saturday-shoulders and Sunday-chest/quads/calves. I sort of rotate different exercises week to week to keep my body guessing and think it's been working well for me.
My overall look is much fuller and I am very pleased with everything. I started dieting last week (only doing a 4 week diet) and am back to twice a day cardio, 7 days a week. It was tough to get back on the diet but I'm managing and the weight is slowly dropping. The water retention is kind of crappy and hopefully will start to subside soon. I will consider Taraxatone or Dandelion Root before the show if necessary.
FC- for your off season training- we should focus on your back depth and width. The training regimen I gave you at first is the beginning of about a 12 week bulking program. When you are finished with your shows, get with me, and I'll type it out the whole thing for you. The program basically changes about every week or so to avoid overtraining and maximize growth.
I gotta tell ya- you have some balls of steel to take AAS if it's possible to be tested at a show.
M2H- BBing naturallu can be very frustrating, so be patient. There are ways to maximize growth, however. Did you try the diet and training I gave you, or did you just start into your contest diet?

Before you take this advice, I would like to see what you look like today. In all honesty sweetie, I think you are doing too much cardio. And, I think that may be why you are coming in super lean. I honestly think you can come in fuller.
When I did my show last year, I was doing cardio 2 and 3 times a day!...and that was BBing.
I really, truly believe you're overdieting yourself! :)

I was wondering why you would do a natural show that is testing? Do a show that doesn't test. :nono:
You're getting on a stage with women who believe that because its tested, no one is on! You just cycled winnie and var 3 weeks before the show.
Balls of steel is competing against people on your level!
Well, you have to remember she competes in the Canadian federation. Their rules are much different. Just because the federation says they test the winners, does not necessarily mean that the show is promoted as a natural show. Or, that people in the show don't use, or haven't before.
It is a gamble, but their definition of an all natural show is much different than ours. Even though they may test at a show does not mean it's considered all natural.
The IFBB CAN test their shows. Do you ever see Ronnie Coleman get tested? They also don't promote the show as an all natural show, but it IS a possibilty that they can test....but that doesn't sway anyone from using, doesn't it?
Hi Red, you mentioned the full 12 week bulking program ... thought I would ask you for it. I'll be taking it easy for a bit to relax and recover after the show but will plan to start hard and heavy in the fall.

Let me know when you are ready for it, what drugs you think you want to do, and most importantly- how much time you can devote to this!
Hi Red, I've had a good break and just back from some holidays. I am looking at options for my next show and debating a totally different competitive stream. I know that the national shows in Canada would mean having to put on some serious weight. I am debating on what is next in terms of AAS as well. I don't care to run Winny again - still fighting some back acne. I did well with Var alone and will consider stacking it with something else. I know you suggested EQ before??
For this program, I likely would start shortly since the 2 shows I'm considering are in October. These are more fitness modeling events but based on the feedback I've received from the shows in April and July, maybe that is a better direction for me. Guess I'm looking at 8 to 10 weeks total. As always - I appreciate your help and guidance!

EQ and Var would be a great stack for you. If you need some cycle suggestions, let me know.
What sort of feedback did you receive? Are you now considering getting out of figure? If so, I don't know if EQ is even worth doing, really. And, you'd be surprised at what just 5-10lbs of lean muscle can do for your frame. One thing, I think could really help is HGH. I know it's expensive, and for it to benefit you, you'd have to take it for at least 6 months. I think it could really help you with your muscle depth and development of the muscle itself. And, it has some fat burning properties. IMHO, when taken with AAS, the results are really much better than taking either by itself.
Red - some cycle suggestions would be great. Have you used EQ and can you give me some of the potential sides?
I still want to compete in figure and know that adding some lean muscle would help my placings in future events. The head judge from the 2 shows I did said that my lower body didn't seem as conditioned as my upper body, but that my overall skin tone and stage presence was very good. Her main suggestion was adding more overall size. I still looked pretty tiny at the tested show and suprisingly looked short compared to the other girls in the tall class. Guess I'm a 'short tall' girl! :P
HGH is not something I considered in the past but after reading more it might be an option as well and is something to think about. It might be part of the long term plan, especially if I want to do Nationals again next year.

In reference to the EQ, here is how I would cycle it for you:
50mg- Week 1, 75mgs- Week 2, 100mgs Week 3-6, back down to 75mgs Week 7, and 50mgs Week 8. Youcould stack this with Var since you've stacked it w/ Winny before, but that's up to you. Potential sides are going to be somewhat similar to the Winstrol. Cracky or raspy voice, acne, I didn't get any enlargement "down there". Some do, but it's not common. The best side of EQ, is that it makes you COCK strong! LOL. So LIFT HEAVY. Keep in mind though, that it has a long ester. So,you probably won't start noticing its effects for 3-4 weeks, but be patient. In about the 5th week, it made me super hungry. So, use that to your advantage and really eat your face off. BTW- what sort of bulking diet do you have planned out?
Your lower body conditioning could be several things that can be remedied. GH, for one, can help with that as well as making your muscle bellies fuller. I would give it some serious thought (and serious savings $$! LOL) if youwant to do Nationals again next year. Nolvadex and Proviron would also be something to think about before your next show. Those 2 together can really help a female's lower half lean up and have that hard look.
The fact that you looked shorter compared to the other girls, willwork toyour advantage. The biggest reason why you looked shorter is those girls either had longer torsos or longer legs. Rememeber- this sport is all about illusions. So, if you look shorter, and have better symmetry you should do well.
I think you have the potential to go far in the sport, and it seems like the judges like seeing your face. But, if you want to take it to the next level, after these next shows, I would suggest committing a good 4-6 months in the winter to bulking.
Thanks Red. I found out that I need to re-qualify for Nationals which kind of sucks but it's not a huge deal. I'll have to find out when the qualifier is and hopefully it will be fairly close to the National show.
In terms of bulking, I will follow up with my trainer but probably plan something similar to what you had helped me with last year. We have already talked about setting up a long term plan with monthly goals but have to get into the details now. I'm really planning ahead - Nationals will be July 1, 2006 and I expect the qualifier would be sometime in mid to late June so I will have at least 6 months to bulk.
The tall class starts at 5'6 I think and I'm 5'7 but all legs - very short torso. The girl I was next to at the last show was 5'10 and she looked huge next to me. My goal for the next year will definitely to bring my legs into the same condition as my upper body. Back development was this years goal and I made a lot of changes to my structure. I think another year will help even more.
I will look into EQ a bit more and let you know what I decide.
