have you been reading the headlines.. they ask these guys waht they used, they reply "steroids?" i haven't used steroids. they should ask them if they have used any muscle enhancement drugs and if so, which ones specifically, just to get a straight answer. i bet they'll all say creatine :)
Originally posted by hitmansb Oh, and another thing....ball players aren't gonna stop juicing....they're just going to be limited to taking suspension (or using the test patch) in carefully controlled amounts to stay just under the 6:1 testosterone to epitestotserone ratio like olympians must. And if the CBA doesn't cover GH for testing, they'll still be loading up on that. With a good GH + test regimen, guys will still be able to carry the extra muscle without testing positive.
As a side note, they can actually run I think up to 160mg/week straight thru if they take an epitest shot along with it. above that and all the numbers look weird but I have it from a good source that many european athletes do this.
I think it's bullshit to even consider erasing their records whether or not they were using. After-all, hitting a baseball is a very complicated thing and packing on muscle alone isn't going to allow you to make contact any better.
And as for these "records". Which records other than the homerun record are they going to possibly erase or put an asterisk next too?
Baseball is gonna cover this one up because they know homeruns and high impact players and offenses are what puts people in the stands.
the funniest thing about the whole thing is that if he would have been getting his stuff the same way we do via internet mail order etc. he would never had got caught!!!!
why do these big shots think they need to go get their stuff from these big time high profiled doctors/trainers??? He shouldve settled for good ol vet stuff, and he wouldnt have this problem right now.
Originally posted by INTIMID8OR3 You guys are going to like this one ,,,I think they should take all Barry's records away from him If they find him guilty of using ...........Its just not fair to guys like Babe Ruth that I can guarantee you didn't Juice .Besides that he's my all time favorite ...:D I've ran into Bonds 4 Times and he's always the same Pompous ass.....FLAME ON
No flames bro! i totally agree!
of course i dont disapprove of roid use but youre completely right, that you can not say Barry Bonds was better then the old timers who didnt use, because we will never know how much better Babe woulda been had he juiced.
i also think that fighters and any other athelete should suffer the full consequences associated with their roid use in sports not because roids are bad but because they broke the rules..........its kinda like smoking weed......i dont see anything wrong with it but i am well aware that if i smoke a blunt in front of a cop i will get busted, and i dont blame the cop for busting me, hes just doing his job.
Hey Intim. I think you missed the mark a bit about The Babe not being on the "juice". He was frequently on the "juice", however it was liquid and probably 100 proof, lol. I've watched his life story several times, and it's hard to imagine how much greater the records he set would have been had he trained better and laid off the night life, too much food, too much booze and all the girls. I'd almost bet he could have hit 75-100 more home runs. Mickey Mantle too, especially if his knees would have lasted. I still rate The Babe as the best ever to play the game. BB
i agree that reaction time and bat speed are what seperates minor and major league players. BUT, the 162 games played along with the travel and fatigue these guys are dealing with, don't you think that being in far better shape and plain ole stronger than the average player has a distinct advantage?
best pure hitter in baseball history. did you know that his reaction time was 2-3 times better than that of an average player. from what i heard he struck out because he was too quick with the bat!

lets not forget that he was a star pitcher too. no player with all the juice in the world could do that nowadays.
