  • T4 Vs T3

    I've used T4 three times with a reasonable effect, only in coursesof one pack (30 tabs) a time, tapering from one to two tabs a day, and then tapering off again at the end, so the couse lasts less than 14 days.

    I have read that T4's effect only really happens when it converts to T3 in the body and that this is one of the reasons that effidrine works as a fat burner because it increases the rate at which the body converts T4 to T3.

    I've always wanted to try the supposedly strobger T3, and have recently got my hands on some, they are 25mcg per tab and I only have 30 tabs so I was going to go no higher than 5omcg per day.

    I have 3 questions;

    1) Has anyone had any experience with both these compounds and do you have an opinion on how they have compared, in your experience only?

    2) Does anyone have an opinion on whats is a safe length of time to take thyroid hormone,

    3) Does it really cause permanent shut down as I have read contrasting articles on whether is really can shut down your natural thyroid or whether in fact that is BS and that people wrongly diagnose with Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) have been given thyroid wrongly for up to 8 years and when they were eventially correctly diagnosed with something else, and taken off the T3/4 their thyroid levels begun to return to normal within 2 weeks?

    I'm no T3 expert, but I did research it awhile ago because I am currently running it myself along with my bulking cycle. A very intelligent vet on another board posted an article on it, and this was the jist of it:

    T3 should be run in VERY small doses to avoid natural thyroid suppression: 12.5 mcg per day. This vet noticed a shut-down period after running even 50mcg per day, and stated that the results gained from taking 12.5mcg and 50mcg were nearly identical, so it wasn't worth running the higher dose. Your thyroid would bounce back after taking higher doses, but wouldn't be back to normal nearly as quickly as two weeks. Levels would BEGIN to climb at the two week point, but you'd be looking at a period of more like two MONTHS to get your thyroid back to normal. During that period, you'd be likely to put back on most if not all of the fat you lost due to the lack of thyroid hormone in your body. That's why higher doses just aren't worth it...they're a short-term solution, but in the long run it's just not effective to run T3 in that fashion.

    DO NOT USE T3 UNLESS YOU ARE ON A CYCLE, OR YOU WILL LOSE MUSCLE AS WELL AS FAT!

    T3 works very well with thermos and yohimbe...synergistic fat loss effect.

    T3 use should be kept to 6 weeks per run, with equal time off afterwards.

    So, optimally, you'd taper down from 1/2 tab a day (12.5mcg) down to 1/4 tab a day (6.25mcg) during the 6th week to make your transition as smooth as possible. No need to taper up...start at 12.5 mcg.

    This is the jist of a very long article (which I'm feeling too lazy to dig up today); you're getting all of the usage information without the wordy scientific explainations. I have tried T4 before, and although I've only been on the T3 for a week and a half, I can already guarantee that a low dose of T3 is MUCH stronger than T4.

        When you get a chance please dig up this article as I would love to read it. I've had a few experiences with T-3 and even got my throid levels tested and they came back to normal. that would be the logic behind the 5/40/55 method. You spend the bulk of the time coming off of it to eliminate any dramatic rebound effect. I have never noticed any such effect either. Note that I was taking this for a competition and my protein intake was rather high and I was running a few anabolics as well. There are numerous articles on T-3 with many of them stating what i've just said. As long as you do not stay at a really high dosage and you spend a great deal of time tapering off slowly you can avoid that nasty reboud. Just my opinions from what I've read and what I've experienced though.
