anti-depressants and steroids

I was getting ready to start my 3 cycle of AS. I went to the doctor today and he stated that I had a form of depression. The doc put me on Wellbutrin XL 300mg. Will it be ok to still start my cycle if I am taking the Wellbutrin?
The cycle will be test/tren/dbol. any help please.

Everyone is different when it comes to meds, but I ran a 10 month cycle while taking Effexor. Personally I think it helped me keep my sanity while coming and taking clomid.

Why don't you tell us your stats, age and work out history so the gurus on here can help you out.

Bro, what is wellbutrin XL 300mg used for? I only heard of the other AD's like Paxil, prozac, zoloft, celexa e.t.c.

Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant similar in it's actions to Prozac. The biggest problem is messing with your sexual performance. Most of the time you can still get wood, but you have a terrible time having orgasms, if at all. Also, the same drug under a different brand name supposedly aids in quitting smoking. BB

Honestly, you're best bet is to see how you react to the wellbutrin first, it might not work for you, you might have to try something else.

What form of depression? Cause not really that many, you kind of either got gas in tank or you don't.

Overall you can run anti-d's and steroids together, that is not problem. Really though you want to deal with depression first, cause if you don't, putting androgens in body can send your whole system out of whack and make getting off and pct a horror, that's where the real concern is at the end, not at beginning.

And trust me, you don't want to have a bad ending, it is the worst hell you could imagine.

while it may feel uncomfortable for you, I suggest you tell your doctor what you are on so He/she can make the medical decision on any adverse interactions. AD's have adverse reactions to a variety of drugs....be smart.......consult your doctor....you only have one life and you do not want to live it with tubes up your nose.....and hospital staff playing with you at night time.....

Not quite. Wellbutrin is a norepinephrin/dopamine reuptake inhibitor (Prozac is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor). There are three neurotransmitters majorly responsible for clinical depression; serotonin, norepinephrin, and dopamine. Antidepressants (not counting tricyclics and lithium) generally affect one or two of those neurotransmittors. Wellbutrin increases norepinephrin and dopamine levels.

A good thing about wellbutrin is that it DOESN'T cause sexual dysfunction. It is serotonin reuptake inhibitors like prozac that cause that. In fact, small doses of wellbutrin are often given with prozac to counteract prozac's propensity to cause sexual dysfuntion. Wellbutrin can actually increase labido by itself (probably a side effect of increasing dopamine levels).

I have taken wellbutrin for years and currently take the wellbutrin XL, 300 mg. There should be no conflict between AAS and wellbutrin.

If wellbutrin stimulates dopamine he should be carefull and not take DBOL or TEST which also stimulates dopamine, too much over stimulation could be dangerous! Do you find this med makes you happier spidey?

I stand corrected, I thought they both were serotonin uptake inhibitors. Anyway, Wellbutrin caused me terrible problems sexually, as did Prozac and others. The only Anti-dep that doesn't cause any side effects sexually, FOR ME, is Remeron and it is great. BB

Different mechanisms. I am not sure increases in dopamine levels due to test or dbol is even significant. At any rate, I have used both dbol and test while taking wellbutrin and had no problems.

Wellbutrin is the only antidepressant that has worked for me. Prozac made me psychotic (and impotent), Celexa and Effexor both made me super irritable. Apparently, it is a norepinephrin/dopamine problem with me. All the others I have tried were serotonin reuptake inhibitors and they sucked for me.

It increases my labido significantly too.

I have never heard of remorin. I'll try to look it up and get back to you.

I looked it up on an online PDR.

Remeron is a norepinephrin/serotonin reuptake inhibitor. So, it is an ssri but it also modulates norepinephrin.

As I said, I have tried practically every anti-dep there is over the years, and there were many, and all had some sides. The worst to handle was the sexual problems. The biggest problem with Remeron, according to my Dr., is that it increases your appetite and some will find they gain too much weight. Personally, it hasn't bothered me in that respect. I do know that I have never had any sexual sides from it. BB
