Sorry i was away as this thread peossed...I haven't done near as many cycles as most guys on here, but I've never felt that the AS exacerbated anything but anger. I wish someone could find a study on this. Does AS intensify suicidal feelings?

I hope this isn't the same story that they've put on the news dozens of times already about the kid who killed himself in Texas. The kid's father came on here a while back and the discussion got a bit ugly. If I remember correctly the kid was actually diagnosed with a case of depression but instead on THAT being what led him to suicide it must have been the juice because juice is the devil.

No, not the same story. This one was done on someone here in my area.
AAS can exacerbate such feelings to those that are prone to it, or have pre-disposed behavior in that situation. And then there are those that LET themselves think they can get angry for whatever reason because they THINK it's the AAS doing it.
There is some degree of depression that occurs post cycle in many people. Which is why I said people who are pre disposed to aggressive behavior and depression need to think twice before diving into AAS. Anything else is simply a matter of self control.
It is what it is....meaning, people can control themselves and the media will use whatever they can to show blame instead of resting the true problem on the shoulders of the person involved. Instead, they use every tactic possible to blow it out of proportion, and allow the individual to not take responsibility for their own actions.

They look for AAS, or whatever substance, to be the one and only reason. Instead of investigating depression in general among these people; without the use of AAS.

Read some of the posts that the bouncer put up after comming off. He was really struggling for some time with his emotional wellbeing. He, however, realized that what he was experiencing was his own fault (for the length of time on cycle). He was courageous enough to admit what had gone wrong instead of just blamming the juice. I agree with civic, we should be able to obtain and use under a Dr. supervision. Generally the folks in here wouldn't so much need the supervision, as would those that don't research or even read and start shootin without any knowlege of what they are gettin themselves into. I don't mean to be all "after school special", but knowlege is power.

That shows you the danger of these substances....you mentioned emotional "wellbeing" that's why they have been directly linked to the suicides of teen aged boys in America....NOT 1 suicide, but several others also. BOTTOM LINE...this stuff is harmfull.Originally posted by barbender

Greek, I agree, aas can be harmful. You are correct in saying so. That should however be predicated by the statement, when used irresponsibly. With proper dosage and medical monitoring of liver enzymes, hormones, etc. they can be used with a great degree of safety. The problem with these young athletes is the misconception that aas will solve the problems they are having in their lives (i.e. dating, sports, social acceptance, etc). These things are exacerbated by the fact that they are just too young and full of natty hormones that are taking them on an emotional roller coaster anyhow. There are clearly other problems that are underlying the suicide of these adolescents. In saying so, I want to make it perfectly clear that my heart goes out to the loved ones left in the wake of all this and it is not my intention to deminish the tragedy they have endured. However I feel that the use of aas is a personal choice left to consenting ADULTS.

This can be said about anyone taking certain prescription drugs. When I came off Prozac I had mental problems to deal with...now I am on Paxil and will eventually ween off of that. I have had friends that came straight off Paxil and would have major mood swings or what they would call "brain pains".....a fast and bad headache that would come on fast and go just as fast! They eventually went back on Paxil and would ween themselves off.Originally posted by barbender

^good post bad1, putting any substance into your body that alters your hormonal levels can have both positive and negative effects. That is why one must be educated and cautious in the use. I don't want what I said in my first post to be taken out of context. What I said about the bouncer, was meant to be taken as a lesson learned for the bouncer. He realized the problem and had to pay his dues for it. Now he is better off for the time spent.
