I always shoot quads - I new I went thru a nerve ending yesterday but after I lifted today and did cardio I fucking am so knotted up my left leg is gimping around. I've never had to do more than use the massager I have - but this time I need something else, it's heat on knots correct ? Loosen it up - ice would just make it tighter ?

put a damp paper towel over the area. then on top of that put a regular dry towel. then on top of that a heating pad set to its highest setting.
the towel will keep the heating pad from getting damp from the paper towel and will also protect your skin from getting to hot.

repeated shots to the same area does and will cause scar tissue thus not allowing the oil or water based injection to dissapate into the muscle..its kinda like your asshole with to much cheese injested. move around, i myself like the hip flexor with a 1 inch 22 gauge or smaller ..
