Painful Glute Shot - killing me...

not sure what the fu(k i did wrong... but damn my glute is killing me. swelling up like a mother fu(ker too. no redness or anything though, able to walk still but it feels as though i put T-400 straight into it. shot was Schering test250 & Denkall deca200 (2cc's total). i usually have no problems up to 3.5 cc's in my glutes :(

Heating pad and some type of massaging device is the best advice i can offer bro. I've had some shots that have been severely painful as well, it definitely sucks though.

no, it's localized... i'm thinking i just got a bad shot or moved the needle too much or something.

If the pain radiated you could have nicked or involved the sciatic nerve. The kind of localized pain your are describing can be from moving the needle or not popping deep enough under the muscle sheath.

ok, just a little update... slight swelling still and now some redness. how long should this continue before i start antibiotics? also, i'm only into my third week of the cycle. options are to stop or continue using my quads and delts for a while, giving my ass a rest.

If you have antibiotics laying around I'd say go ahead and give em a try. Better to be safe than sorry...Like muscledoc said though, any signs of fever ?

Which antibiotics would he use? My feeling is if it is an infection it would have to be some sort of Staph that was carried inot the tissue by the needle. Point is though that an infection would not have caused pain so immediately after teh injuection. It would take at least two days to develop. MOst immediate pain is inflammatory in nature and can take 24-48 hours to peak and 36-48 to subside.

If you're going to do antibiotics I would do amoxicillin 500mg Bid for 7-10 days. This covers staph and strep.
