Sorry I'm getting in on the tail end of this, but I don't agree with this diet.

For 165 lb female, she only needs around 110-120 gms of protein per lb of body weight. She is eating over 200 in the diet listed above. It's not necessary, and it's just way too much. She's not a BBer or even a competitor, she's just looking to lose weight.

Here's why your wife isnt' losing weight- her calories are way too low for the high amount of activity she is doing. Her body is storing everything she puts in it- plain and simple. While I agree she does need to implement some healthy fats, the diet listed above is not the right route to take....sorry B...Aside from the overload of protein, the other problem for her with this diet is the amount of cardio she does. Palumbo's diets do include people doing cardio, but not running, and NOT for 2 hours at 6.5 on a 1-1.5 incline. The other problem with the diet, is there is almost NO vegetables. True- fiber does help burn fat, but you need it from raw vegetables.

I suggest reducing the carbs, adding more vegetables, and doing a couple of carb meals per week. This still allows the body to go into ketosis, but allows her body to refuel at the 2 carb meals so she has the energy to do her 2 hrs of running. The fats just won't help her do that, and she will give up, IMHO.

I will be more than happy to post up a diet if you are interested, MM. But, if you already have her sold on the Palumbo thing, then it's sort of pointless.

After further review of this diet, the nutrients are really way too high for a 165 lb. female.; non-BBer especially.

This diet is 282 protein, 148 gms of fat, and 2439 cals. If she wants to lose weight, this just isn't the way to do it. If she starts this diet, she will gain weight. True, some of it may be muscle, but her body hasn't seen nearly these calories in months, and they are almost trippling, so she will gain fat as well. For a non BBer, 282 grams of protein is insane. I didn't even eat that much when I was bulking to GAIN muscle.

Just my .02, but I don't this is the right diet.

if you think this is 148 grams of fat, you are on drugs.

5 whole eggs (make sure to buy OMEGA-3 EGGS from the supermarket. They contain virtually NO saturated fat and tons of good OMEGA-3 fats); add another 4 egg whites to this (they don?t need to be the Omega-3 ones; you can use liquid egg whites)

          MEAL #2
SHAKE: 35g Whey Protein with 1 ? tablespoon of All Natural Peanut butter (no sugar)

          MEAL #3

comes out to 75 grams of fat.

            235 grams of protein.

            1615 cals

p.s. that last meal should be 35 grams of protein, not 50.

Uhh... I just plugged everything in on the nutrition facts website, and here are the calculations. I understand there will be some deviation based on brands, but I think it's pretty close. I mean, just 5 whole eggs alone come out to 35 grams of fat..,and that's just at one meal. I understand they are the healthy fats, but still:

                protein cals fats

                meal 1 51 433 35
                meal 2 42 315 18
                meal 3 41 558 31 *1/2c cashews is 393 cal
                meal 4 42 315 18
                meal 5 34 354 36
                meal 6 42 463 36

                252 2438 174

My first issue is not just the diet, but more importanly, anything over 120 gms of protein for this girl is just ludicrous. 230, 250- whatever- it's wayyy too much. My second issue is the enormous amounts of fats. I just think that with her going from earing 1000 cals/ day to 2300+++, will only negate her efforts

sorry red but you dont know your nutrient break downs. 1 whole egg has 4.5 grams of fat. 4.5 x's 5 = 22.5 not 35 grams of fat.

1 tbsp of PB is 7 grams of fat not 18. etc.. not sure where you are getting these numbers but the website is wrong. go take a look in your fridge. your numbers are way off. meal 6 is 7 grams of fat if you go with the 1tbsp PB or 18 grams of fat if you go with the 4 eggs, not 35..WTF are you looking at? lmao.

its not 2300 cals a day and its not way off when you take into account 0 carbs. if we added in more carbs her protein would drop a great deal. her body will be in a higher muscle wasting state with no carbs so we bump up the protein to avoid it.

Yeah- you're absolutely right- I don't have a fucking clue about diets or nutrient break downs. I included ZERO calculations for carbs to the cals, BTW.

I understand the GOAL of the Palumbo diet, but the Palumbo diet flat out isn't right for this girl. She doesn't give a SHIT about being in a higher muscle wasting state. I also understand that people swear by Palumbo's diet, and it works for many. But, it's not the right move for this girl right now.

If I'm off by a few grams of fat- big fucking deal- so it's 125 and not 175, I'm at work trying to do this quickly, so this girl doesn't blow up. And I'm being really generous with that number. It's still NOT going to produce the results she wants; in fact the opposite.

You POSSIBLY could do this diet after about 2 months of ramping up her calories, but absolutely not going from eating 1000 to well over 2000.

and for the record, I just didn't cut the PB in half. So, sue me- I'm off by 30 gms of fat.

                            Rado- bite it! :)

off by more then 30 grams.

its not 125 grams of fat either. lol.

and yes she does give a shit. even though she dosent workout she dosent want to keep losing muscle weight. with her activity level and no carbs, the protein is essential. dont care if you agree or not. :)

once again, not over 2000. feel like i am talking to a wall here. not well over 2000 cals, not even 2000 cals.
