Dont just blame the schools, blame the parents too. When I was young, my sisters and I tried out every sport my parents could afford to put us in. I remember spending after schools playing in the streets, riding our bikes around we had no nintendo and our parents didnt buy us movies to sit around and watch till bedtime.

Childhood was so great, so innocent and we were never fed McDonalds everyday, as McDonalds and sugar cereals were a "treat" that we got like once every two weeks.

Schools shouldnt be raising children either, it is not their responsiblity to make sure that kids are getting the proper nutrition and excercise each day. What they are responsible for are implementing programs, good phys ed programs for each and every grade level.

Me working in a school district, its kinda fucked up cause they dont take kids outside that much like they used to before when i was in elemetary school. All we would do was be outside and playing or even when it was cold outside we'd be in the gym playing sweeating our asses off.

I also blame the fucking parents, seen it one too many times, most of the parents dont want their kids dirtying their clothes or even sweating. Give me a fucking break, they care more about their kids clothing than the actual kids. Thats fucked up. I rather have my kid active and happy than to be sitting down watching other kids play. I could give a rats ass on their clothing

My brother in law has his 5 year old son water all the trees on their property, 3.5 acres, with a five gallon bucket of water. He has him fill it at the spigot and then carry it all over the yard. Hot or not he does it and let me tell you this kid is in some kind of shape. No TV after school...outside. If we kept kids more active then parents would not have to rely on medication so much either.

Now this is sad and it illistrates the point of this whole thread and why parents need to take control of their kids diet habit

Gawd, I don't think my son had those folds on his arms even when he was 6 months old.

That is one kid whose parents should be taken to the woodshed and given a thorough beating....
