building your own would be actually putting it together. you just picked what you want and they put it together.

What did you put in it? Mine has all the goodies, only cost me no more than $950 total for memory, cd-rw, video card, surround speakers, webcam, the processor I got free.. I think the most expensive thing I got for my PC was my digital camera.. :)

Getting a dvd+r/rw drive in another week, only $160.. ;)
