This is an actuall post from a different board.
"Alright, I know it may be silly, but i'm dead serious. My friend recently got a puppy, and he says it's sick and it's shitting all over the place. That's not the issue though, it's how he describes it in past tense. He said his dog "shat" on his carpet. I asked him what shat was, he says the dog took a dump, but since it's past tense, the proper terminology is "shat". I thought it was shitted, i.e. The dog just shitted on the carpet. Yes, we're arguing about this, and he bet me 20 bucks, so please tell me that "shat" is not a real term, and shitted is how it's supposed to be. "
