After how unpredictable the last two were I'm not taking chances. I'd rather be overprepared than not. This morning it looks like the storm is moving a bit towards the west which would be great for us but I still worry about where ever it hits land. I just wish the thing would calm down so that when it does hit land it's a 3 or less. A 3 is still a tough storm, but a 5 would completely level where it hits.

It's so strange having the windows boarded up. It's almost 10am and it still looks like midnight because no light is getting inside. It's so strange.

This is a great little chart that the Natl Hurricane Center puts out.

It may be hard to read, but look at each city and column E

Column E is the pecentage chance that the eye will fall within 65 miles of that city. Tampa has gone from 4 percent to 16 percent in the last day.

It's an unusually active season, but the Atlantic Hurricane Season does run from June 1st until November 30th. The peak of the season is roughly from August 15th until September 30th. That puts our unfortunate ass' right in the middle of the most active time of the season. Yahoooooooo!! Surf's up!

I can't imagine what will happen if it hits a densely populated area as a cat. 5. If it's gonna be a 5 hopefully it hits an area without many people in it.

Right now it's slowed down in speed but winds have increased. It's also taken a move towards the west a bit and is no longer expected to go right over Tampa but of course, Charlie wasn't supposed to go over Punta Gorda and they had only 15 minutes warning that it had changed direction.

              Here's the lastest map:
