    But wait...

It's OK to drown chickens or bleed a pig to death or shock a cow to death, but if you shoot a dog in the head (which is much more humane then any of these other deaths) you're a bad person?

What did you just say? Please, please tell me you arent trieng to say that what this guy did was ok. Please tell me you arent saying that. I dont think any of the above is right but IMO dogs are the most loyal friend a human can have. They have stood side by side with man for thousands of years.

i know that pigs, chickens, and cows were meant to be eaten for long long times. Thats why they have those huge farms where they raise animals like that. I know its bad to okill them but without them what do we eat. Dogs are a different story.

I agree with u brother, dogs are something different. Hey if someone tried killimg my dogs, i'd kill them instantly (the persons):D

Stories like that make me wanna throw up. Sadistic mother fucker. Jesus Christ, it's not like he couldn't put all of those helpless puppies in a goddamn laundry basket and take them to a no kill shelter or something. Fucking idiot.

A couple of weeks ago, over 100 dogs were seized from a woman's property. Over half of them were put to sleep because they had been neglected to long. The other half were taken to the Human Society and put up for adoption....and almost 100% of them were adopted that day on the spot.

Millions of people eat dogs, the fact that you use something as food does not give you the right to be cruel. I just see a lot of hypocrisy. When a few puppies might get shot in the head we all feak out (A shot to the head is not as cruel as dropping the puppies off somewhere where they might starve death or get eaten). Meanwhile millions of other animals are slaughtered inhumanely everday and nobody says shit.

Why would killing a dog be so special. Pigs are smarter. The closest relative of a domestic chicken is a wild turkey and if you hunt you know they are very smart animals. (Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be out national symbol). In up state New York thousands of coy-dogs are being hunted because of the damamge they do to livestock. I just dont see the outrage unless you are unaware of the suffering of millions of other animals everyday.

                          1) This is a very dear topic to me
                          2) Just pissed that poeple get all riled up because a "cute" animal might get killed (and actually in a rather humane way), but meanwhile millions of other animals are hunted for horns (elephants), or boiled alive (Lobsters) or get stuck in large in humane traps were they eventually starve to death (Bears and Wolves), or pigs have thier throats cut and are then turned upside down so they bleed to death. Of the five examples I just gave four are probably smarter than dogs
                          3) One or the other means that it is either OK to kill animals or it's not. And dont give me that "I eat them" BS. Millions of people eat dogs in Vietnam, Korea and China. In fact they slaughter them much like a pig, they slit the throat and hang the upside down so that they drown in thier own blood. Is this then OK because they eat them afterwords? And if not, why are you then not outraged by the slaughter of millions of pigs in much the same manner? One or the other...

Jmac2222...people do care about the other animals that are slaughtered for no reason at all!!! But as a society our since of caring for the other animals has dulled since we see so much pork, beef and chicken in supermarkets, restaraunts and farms! We know the animals we see on farms are eventually taken to be slaughtered! You don't see farms full of dogs being raised to be eaten...not in America, anyway!

Now as for pigs being smarter...well you got me there! But I would rather have a dog try and sniff out my breathing body in the rubble of a collapsed building or sniff out the explosives somebody might be trying to sneak on my flight! But hey...that's just me!

well I will just say they are cuter than other animals then. LOL

I am kind of with jmac2222 on this one. Don't get me wrong; I love dogs and have one of my own that I rescued as an abandoned pup but.......

We don't know all the facts here. For instance, when I was 13, we were given a couple beagle pups. I loved those dogs and played with them all the time. My stepfather (may he rot in hell) decided they needed to die because they kept him up at night with barking. So, he handed me a shotgun and told me to shoot them. Now, I had two choices: I could shoot the dogs in the head and make it quick and merciful or I could refuse and lose the respect of my stepfather (which for some reason was important at the time). Nothing would have changed, the dogs still would have been shot but knowing him, he may not have been so merciful about it.

I took the shotgun and shot my friends between the eyes and I never let my stepfather see my cry. I had nightmares for years afterward and it still bothers me to this day.

The reason we didn't take them to the pound was the local pound charged $10 per animal to take them. We were dirt poor and $10 was all we spent on a weeks groceries. A shotgun shell was 10 cents. We couldn't afford to take them to the pound.

What if this guy was in sort of the same boat? Not saying he was forced to kill them but what if he couldn't afford to take them to the pound? Shooting them in the head is at least quick and painless and more merciful than abandoning them to starve.
