I can see where you're coming from spidey. But atleast they would have had a chance to survive possibly. Maybe someone would take them in. Dogs were wild before they were domesticated, it's still in their blood to know how to survive. Deciding whether they should live or die should be up to god or mother nature.

wtf. Are you people really trying to say what this guy did wasn't that bad? I'm still trying to absorb what I just read.

Nobody once said that slaughtering animals, cows, pigs, chickens or whatever isn't cruel. But, to shoot puppies in the head and just throw them away is cruel, if you can do something like that with no remorse, then you are a sick fuck and I think that you are likely to become a serial killer, I read that somewhere.

I think that pigs are ranked higher in intelligence than dogs, but I don't want one of those stinky fuckers in my house as a pet. To me, dogs and cats are on a different level than just wild animals or farm animals, they are companions, and according to Sana people in china really don't eat dogs and cats, but I am not sure about that, I don't have the facts to debate that one.

Here is a pic of the 4 surviving puppies. Luckily one of their siblings shot the killer before he killed them.

I agree. Like I said, dogs have stood gardian over man and his land for thousands of years. They are more loyal to a human than any other animal on the planet. The guy that did this should be beat to death with a hammer. You can treat a dog like shit its whole life and it would put its life on the line for you in a heart beat. At least the breeds I have owned would do that. Rottweilers and Boxers. Its not ok to shoot a little puppy and anyone that thinks so is a fucking moron.

My buddy's dog pratically sacraficed his life for his son. His son who is like 3 years old, would always be treating his dog bad and smacking it and stuff. However, a rabid dog had wandered into their house and was about to go at his son, when his dog ran up and handled the rabid dog. He got bit in the process and died from rabies later. But his kid had always been mean to this dog, but the dog still laid down his life for him. Good thing i'm not on clomid right now.

Great story. You here things like that all the time. That just makes my point so much stronger. Dogs and humans have such a strong bond. You guys that compare lobster, and cows, and whatever else are just wrong. Sure, I think its bad that any animal is treated bad but a dog IMO is at the top. Im telling you right now, I would put my life on the line if someone was trieng to hurt my dog just like he would do for me. How many pigs have ever saved us? lol.

my cats are great alert cats. because as soon as danger is around I am alerted by them running 300mph away from the danger usually downstairs to hide in shame for about an hour or two. LOL

my family is real big into hunting (deer, rabit, turkey) especially my brother. he has a bunch of hick friends and he said one time they went out hunting, they were gonna shoot this beagle dog that someone had brought out with them to do rabbit hunting with. they said the dog sucked out kicking up rabbits and was of no use, so they were gonna shoot it with there hunting guns, but my brother saved the dog and told them they were all fucking stupid...........some people!

We don't know all the facts here. For instance, when I was 13, we were given a couple beagle pups. I loved those dogs and played with them all the time. My stepfather (may he rot in hell) decided they needed to die because they kept him up at night with barking. So, he handed me a shotgun and told me to shoot them. Now, I had two choices: I could shoot the dogs in the head and make it quick and merciful or I could refuse and lose the respect of my stepfather (which for some reason was important at the time). Nothing would have changed, the dogs still would have been shot but knowing him, he may not have been so merciful about it.

I took the shotgun and shot my friends between the eyes and I never let my stepfather see my cry. I had nightmares for years afterward and it still bothers me to this day.

The reason we didn't take them to the pound was the local pound charged $10 per animal to take them. We were dirt poor and $10 was all we spent on a weeks groceries. A shotgun shell was 10 cents. We couldn't afford to take them to the pound.

What if this guy was in sort of the same boat? Not saying he was forced to kill them but what if he couldn't afford to take them to the pound? Shooting them in the head is at least quick and painless and more merciful than abandoning them to starve.

I am real sorry bro. No kid should have to go through that. I have immense respect for you for having the stregnth to do that at 13.

OK, my last post on this topic...

                          1. Killing dogs is bad. But it is just as bad as killing any other animal. If it is wrong to shoot a dog in the head, then it is wrong to shock a cow to death, or gut a pig while he is still alive, or any of the other sick shit we do everyday. Maybe I just watched "charlotte's web" to many times as a kid, but I am a bg believer that all animals feel pain, all animals have hopes and desires, and that all animals are equally deserving of humane treatment

                          2. Yes, dogs do great things for people.
                          More great things than say...pigs.
Dogs also maul and kill more people than say...pigs.
But this may very well have nothing to do with the animal and more so with our behavior.
We hang out with dogs a lot more than say...pigs.

                          3. Lobsters--maybe not so smart. But I dont think they enjoy being boiled alive either

                          4. Spidey may have hit on something. I am not going to go the poverty angle but if he was a farmer then you can forget about it. Farmers are great people...but they'll kill something quicker then sittin down, I dont care what it is: dog, cat, pig, cow, squirrel, trespasser...anything.

Sorry about the soapbox attitude on this thread.
