In regards to the past! Too many people wonder if things really did happen or was it all a hoax by the government! I believe in UFO's and Area 51 and that we put a man on the moon! I believe our government has more money than they know what to do with! I also believe that money would be put to better use to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, save the animals that are abandoned and left to be put to sleep! Stop giving out large amounts of money (grants) just for people to waste on this kind of bullshit (man on the moon)! IMO

Ugh, please. These conspiracy theorists are looney in the first degree. I can explain most of those "discrepancies" off the top of my head.

      1) Shadow of flag going the wrong way: First of all, the resolution of the pictures is probably pretty poor so it may be difficult to distinguish what is a shadow and what is a dark strip of moon soil or something. Look at the large "shadow" supposedly from the moon lander. THERE IS A GAP UNDER IT MIDWAY THROUGH. That is something like a flexable tube or somesuch laying on the ground. The other small shadows form the outline of a small rock formation or platau of soil. The sun (from the right) shines on the point of that formation causing both sides to be somewhat shadowed; no big mystery here. Hell, look at all the footprints. They are shadowed as if the sun comes from the right too.

      2) Buzz's footprint too deep: Oh come on! Are we supposed to believe the authors of this shit know the density of moon soil? I mean, how could they since we've never been there, LOL. The depth of a foot print is completely dependent on the density of the surface stepped on. Do an experiment: make a 12" deep pile of loose flour and a 12" deep pile of firm soil. Now, step in both and see what the difference in depth is. Since the gravity of the moon is only 1/6 that of earth, it is logical that the soil will not be as packed or DENSE. Even the detail of the footprint suggests light gravity and no air movement. Look at your flour footprint. It will not be as defined since the fine edges will crumble (under gravity) and the slightest breeze will cause even more damage.

      3) Flag waving even though no air on the moon: Did it ever occur to these crackpots that a limp flag hanging straight down would not make a good picture? They likely would have starched it to stand out or even made it out of a stiffer material than just cloth. I have seen several small flags that do not need a breeze to stand out (like those waved at political rallies).

      4) no crater under lunar lander: Tell me, is there a crater at Cape Canaveral (then Cape Kennedy) where the rocket took off? Also, the lunar lander DOES NOT generate 25000 pounds of thrust. If it did, it could have taken off from Earth by itself without the help of the Apollo rocket that launched it. The lander generates only enough force to be able to launch from the lighter gravity of the moon. You can bet your last dollar they picked a landing sight only after years of careful planning and mapping the moon's surface as best they could. They would have picked a rocky surface to land on so that it WOULDN'T crater and cause the lander to be perched unstably in the crater. Remember, if that thing fell over and broke, they would have died up there. That doesn't mean the rock it landed on was bare. It could have had a deep layer of lunar dust on it (thus Buzz's footprint).

      5) Buzz's picture all wrong: POOR RESOLUTION. You may be unable to see the stars but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Shadow indicates sun behind but right shoulder receiving light. HE IS TURNED SLIGHTLY. The suits are highly reflective as well. I see no glaring incongruity here. You can't tell WHERE the camara man is standing. You don't know how far away he was or if he was standing on some small elevation. How can the authors possibly know that? They would have to to deduce the hight of the person taking the picture.

      6) objects barely visible in shadows of lander when Buzz is stepping off. OK, this is perhaps the most rediculous claim yet. The presence (or lack thereof) of air has absolutely NOTHING to do with how one perceives shadow. It is purely a perception of light and dark. To say that shadows are "blacker" in the absence of air is just silly. That is like saying the color red smells different than the color green. One has nothing to do with the other (color and smell or air and shadow) Also, look closely at that picture at the ground around the lunar lander. It looks smoother for some radius around the lander. Ya think that could be evidence of a blast zone when the lander landed and blew the dust off that rock it landed on, lol?

      6) Shadows of two astronauts different lengths: The lander had LIGHTS people. Why do these idiots assume all the lighting had to come from the sun? The damn thing was lit up like a Christmas tree. The closer one to the lander was at a more acute angle to these lights. Thus, his shadow is longer. BTW, lander lights could as easily explain some of the other "shadow" phenomena as well.

      7) Finally, the authors claim that the flag would have been incinerated upon takeoff because it was planted "10 ft away". HOW THE HELL DO THEY KNOW HOW FAR AWAY IT WAS? I am a bowhunter and am pretty good at judging distance and it looks more like 25 to 30 yards to me from a couple of those photos. At any rate, distance judgement from photos like this is extremely difficult if not impossible. That flag could have been 50 yards away and well out of the blast zone of take-off. Do these people even claim to know what that blast radius is?

These crackpots really crack me up (pun intended). I just have to sit back and laugh when I see them on TV spouting this conspiracy nonsense; weak minds with a lot of time on their hands I guess.

Hey spidey, you should go on mythbusters dude. Now that I read your post, looks like I would've lost my left nut.

Wow, good link BLM. I was pretty close with some of my explanations, LOL. Some I was off a bit on too. All you people who are being taken in by this BS please read that link. It is very well written and completely explains all of the phenomena.

I like things like this....if nothing else, it creates debate and encourages creative thinking. Spidey's post is definately the best argument so far.

They are both good links. The main thing that the conspiracy theorist forgot when they were talking about light and the shadows is there are more natural light sources then they would have us believe. Light from the earth on the moon is very bright. Light from stars is much much brighter on the moon then it is here on earth. There were natural light sources comming from all directions. Plus like spidey said, the lights on the aircraft.

i believe that we did land on the moon.

The government always has the best rocket scientists working for them. Look at all the things the military has had before the general public. Email and GPS just to name 2.
