I was so ignorant when it came to this shit (still am for the most part) but when I had a 53', it was being repaired through the warranty and the tech detroyed my circuit board. The tv was 3yrs old and no longer available. So for the same money I ended up w/the tv I have now. Best Buy warranties for expensive merchandise is soooo worth the extra money. Anyhow, I wanted the best bang for my buck so I called my buddy who is a tech god and he walked me through everything I needed to know "as" I was talking to the sales dork (who thought he knew more than he did). I ended up w/a pretty sweet tv...IMO.

Ah, I believe you are referring to the DVI/HD port. Assuming you have a high end vid card in your pc w/a DVI out, this is the cable you would need. NOt from here necessarily, but to give you an idea.

This I don't know, I have the adapter that plugs into my vid card as DVI and comes out as component GRB. A friend already had it and I used it. You can use that or DVI to DVI. I honestly don't know the diff w/o doing some research. Gotta go to class and take a midterm...why don't you find out for us.:D

Ok did a few searches and from what I understand the ones me and you have pluged in handle the signle just how it was made.

Hey I was thinking about getting HDTV from Time-Warner. Can someone tell me if I can still use my Tivo with it? I expect the answer is no for the digital channels, but what about the non-HDTV ones?

My cable company (comcast) has there own DVR/HDTV box that they sell. I think you have to use the cable companys Digital Recordable box.

Yeah Time-Warner here in Houston has the DVR too....but I already have a Tivo...so I would rather use that. I guess I will just go buy my own HDTV tuner for the TV.

You're lucky. I had some dumb fuck from the cable co., charter communications, come to install my convertor box for my Mitsu hd1080, and he fucked up the settings for my entire system. I had to call the people I bought ny system from to get me back to square one with my old digital receiver. I told the guy just to leave, as I was losing my temper after 2 hours of fucking around. Anyway, the people where I bought my entire system told me that the normal installers had no idea what they were doing with HDTV. They told me to get the HDTV convertor and the 5 lead RCA cable in my hands, tell the installer to get lost, and call them and they would walk me through the installation. Just my luck, dumb fucks everywhere!!! BB
