You must not have done any fighting before. You learn quick that size dosn't matter. It's a very humbling expierence.

It probably is one of those things you can laugh about LATER, but I remeber my first expierence. When it was laughed about for the first week, it felt like mocking. Spidey also has broken toes to show for it. Mine was a hidden minor concusion.

:( Sorry...not my intentions at all. I just had this picture of a pretty good size guy, of course I do not know what Spidey looks like, having his toes rolled back by this little guy! You know...like a sports blooper...you know it hurt but it was funny to watch!

Oh, I'm not trying to come down on you, I can just feel spidey's pain at the moment.

LOL, the irony did not escape me. We were sparring; not trying to hurt each other. Just tapping with kicks and going for speed and finesse. The reason that kick connected hard was he stepped in and I didn't adjust in time so my kick was uncontrolled. He kicked at the same time which cut the reaction time even further and my toes and his shin collided. I nearly broke the poor kid's leg; he is all black and blue. I felt worse for him than for myself.

Oh well. Shit happens. It's par for the course and I am sure he will heal faster than I. I still really felt like a bully though, LOL.

Lucky for him, I am not a huge guy. Otherwise, he very well might have suffered a broken leg. It was about as hard a front snap kick as I am capable of throwing. I was going to control it at the end of course but things went wrong.

I lift and train toward a more athletic GQ look. I don't train (or eat) to be a freak. My wife hates the freak look.

I am short too, only 5'8" so I keep my weight between 150 lbs and 165 lbs. I am 36 yrs old and about 160 lbs and 10.5% BF right now. I used to compete at my local gym in powerlifting in the 148 lb weight class (just informal competition between me and a few other guys). I deadlifted 406 lbs at that weight but I know I can lift more now. My squat isn't as good. I don't know what my one rep max is but the week before I broke my toes, I squated 295 lbs for 4 reps at the end of my leg workout (so my legs were already tired). That was good for me. I have been working on my legs recently to try to bring them up with the rest of me. I hope this 4 to 6 weeks off due to my toes doesn't make me lose too much ground.

Spidey, I am glad you and the kid are ok...other than the resulting injuries! I am sure you won't lose to much ground due to the toes! Muscles....as you know, are resiliant as long as they were not injured or torn! You will, more than likely come back stronger than before! Good Luck!
