I have not ridden a busa, but they seem too long and heavy to be really nimble. I am sure it is great on the straight aways.

thx guys, I want to get it geared real low, the more I play with it the more I realize I'm much more of a city rider, the topspeeds aren't for me, much rather have oogles of low end to yank it up :), just started working at the shop I bought the bike at so I'm going to get most of my work done their real cheap.

This is why I have always loved Vtwins, like the SV1000, TL1000 and Superhalks. They are just bad ass bikes that sound tough.

Never rode one, but have heard some mixed things. I have a buddy who says it just doesn't have the ergonomics that some of the other bikes have, but then I hear different things on here all of the time. They are def tough lookin and sounding bikes, just not sure how well they cross that line between track to street.

My buddy took my bike out sat night and totalled it, first and last time I ever let anybody ride my bikes. Fuckin bullshit right now, have to go through a bunch of insurance hassle with him now, he's going to end up losing around 2-3 grand and I have to wait now to get another R1. Sigh, take it from me guys, bikes are not cars, never EVER let anybody ride yours, I've had to learn the hard way and now I'm put back while I wait for my next one.

No fucking way!! I feel for you bro. So is the insurance going to pay it off plus a little extra will be left over? When I get my busa, the only jackass that's going to be allowed on it is myself. Then if it does get wrecked, got nobody else to blame but me.

I think "buddies" that want to test out your bike always do just that. Test the shit out of it. Expierenced or not, when it's a different bike you can't expect it to do what you are use to with your own. How did he total it? Is he all right physically?

he's fine, frame is bent, he has some roadrash but this isn't a first for him. He used to ride for realryderz.com which merged with drive to endanger, he swerved as a car came head on in his lane and dumped it. He is covering any difference between insurance payoff and my note. I'll probably just get an 06 R1 at this point, my credit will be beefed up after paying this all off.

Don't get your hopes up on that. They'll see a payoff was made, but the duration of the loan was not long enough. That's the big part right there. When company's are looking to extend loans, they're looking at how much money they're going to make. A loan that gets paid off before the duration of it's originally intended lifespan looks bad to them, cause they aren't going to make as much off interest as they had hoped. Good credit is built on timely payment history and the ability to carry a balance for an extended period of time. But it does look better than nothing.
