I would use extreme caution with this dog around kids ...It just takes one bite to scar a young child for the rest if its life ...scary ...

Shibby I suggest getting rid of the dog. my brother and his wife had a very loveable chow chow. the dog was great with everyone including kids as far as they knew. however when they had their baby the dog snapped at the newborn baby!!!!!
It was hard but they gave him away...
I have a chow and he is AWSOME great personality but a few times now he has flipped out in front of little kids. I wont let him go near children whatsoever. Its hard to believe the same dog did acted this way. I thought it was a fluke at first but it certainly isnt. This behaviour is ingrained into these dogs genetic makeup/personality. Its just a reality of the situationLast edited by NYCmitch25; 07-05-05, 11:14 PM.

nope, dont agree. i also dont agree with the people that say "its just a dog". that dog has been there by your side your whole life. he would give his life for you if he had too. dogs are our most loyal friends. kids come along and we as humans are just ready to throw the dog out like it is a piece of garbage. i hate the human race with a fucking passion.Originally posted by NYCmitch25Shibby I suggest getting rid of the dog.

Bulleye. Not to long ago here in Oklahoma a 3 year old child was mauled pretty bad by a pit bull here and had his arm amputaded at the shoulder forcing the state to pass a bill banning pits here in OK.Originally posted by INTIMID8ORI would use extreme caution with this dog around kids ...It just takes one bite to scar a young child for the rest if its life ...scary ...
My advice don't even have any childern around this dog it's a problem waiting to happen.

NYC, The dog stays at my mom house and the 2 year old was only here for the weekend. It's easy enough to just not let my baby around the dog. There is no way we are going to get rid of the dog.
Bouncer, I understand your frustration with the comment I made about it being just a dog. I didn't really mean it in the way of tossing the dog away or not caring about it. Just that this is a child in danger and I'm not going to just disregard what the dog did, because it's instict. Just that he is still just a dog and needs to be taught that what he did was not alright.

The ban is different from county to county. I live in OK also and there is not a ban on pitbulls here as of now. But I do think the proposal is out there.

my remarks were not geared towards you bro. it was more geared to the general attitude of humans regarding dogs.Originally posted by ShibbyNYC, The dog stays at my mom house and the 2 year old was only here for the weekend. So you know about the story then sad story that child is scared for life.Originally posted by ShibbyThe ban is different from county to county. I live in OK also and there is not a ban on pitbulls here as of now. But I do think the proposal is out there.
But I don't have a disdain for pits I like all breeds of dog but childern shouldn't even be around a dog of that caliber it's just too dangerous no matter how good a pit behaves it's a powder keg waiting to explode.

I have been watchin alot of animal planet during the nights at work. I love the show Animal Cops. Watching those piece of shits get arrested for cruelty to animals. There always whining like they are above treating animals with care because they're humans and the animals are not. I saw this lady that starved these two horses to where you can see the spine and hip bones. Well one was 300lbs under weight. Yes I said 300lbs. She just said the horse wouldn't eat. When they were taken for care the horse not as in bad shape, just started to recover with food, water, and a little antibiotics. The one that was 300lbs underweight ended up colapsing after it started to get care, and had to be put out of her missory. The lady had to spend 36 days in jail with the pictures of the horse posted in her cell to remind her why she was there. Also for the first three days she was only given bread and water.(I loved that part). Then there was this owner that was giving up his mastiff to the SPCA because he couldn't control it and take care of it anymore. The guy said he had gotten agressive and wouldn't let you touch him. His neck was bleeding and the guy said rats would bite him. Well actually what was wrong was the mastiff had an imbedded collar and was in pain. They got the dog taken care of and adopted and the dog just rolls around a plays now. The previous owner of the mastiff recieved a thousand dollar fine and 40 hours of community service to be served helping the SPCA.
