If it does like most storms it will lose a bit of it's wind strength right before landfall, but the speed it is traveling will pick up. So it will actually be more dangerous.

I went through Hugo and don't want to go through another one, but it looks like it wants to visit the Carolinas.:(

          LOL, shibby
It will only decrease once the eye reaches land, if it moves inland quick, it will dissapate faster, if it stalls, watch out...

I know what you mean bro. We get our share here in Louisiana. Man if it hits the warm gulf water, we are fucked.

I hope that goes out to sea, I live on the coast of New England. I have some very large trees in my yard that will not survive this one

Yesterday it was reclassified as a Cat-4, but it is now back up to a Cat-5, w/winds speeds over 156mph. Anybody on the East Coast, take it seriously, if it hits land (which they are becoming more certain that it will), it is expected to do more damage than Andrew. Andrew was the most expensive natural disaster in U.S. history.

                          Be prepared:

Hey witch doctor, cast a spell on it.

I'm so out of touch on some things some time, I just heard about all this on news yesterday.

                            Saying a prayer for ya all's safety.....godspeed.

Looking at past track records, its most likely gonna slam the mid atlantic, but at the pace its moving it could very well hit here as well...one way or another everyone from SC to Mass should be ready for something, cause the water temps dont get cold enough till mid jersey shore for that sucka to loose some strength
