This planet will not be around forever and the human race is going to need somewhere else to go, if not for our pollution then because of our sun burning out..so isn't space exploration a necessary evil? And Sunday is not my day of rest either. O'Rilley is an asshole.

No Gas Sunday's: Request By Bill O'Rilley to Americans

I don't think the guy was saying that we should just avoid buying gas on Sunday, because (as has already been said) people are just going to fill up on Friday or Saturday, which solves nothing because people are still using the same amount of gas. This just proves that Americans aren't too bright. Think about it. The point is to pick a day of the week and NOT USE GAS ON THAT DAY. A decrease in demand means a decrease in cost. *Gasp!!!* How dare I suggest that an American inconvenience him or herself for the greater good of our country!! Well, I happen to think that this country is worth inconveniencing myself for.
If you want to be pissed at someone for the cost of gasoline, than get pissed at the people who supply us with crude oil. Worldwide demand for oil is increasing. But our problem lies in meeting that demand. Crude oil suppliers aren’t stepping up and meeting the demand. They’re just sitting back and watching the rest of the world squabble over who gets their oil. Contracts for the future delivery of oil are traded based on what the future availability and cost of oil is expected to be. Options to buy and sell oil at a future date are traded the same way. If crude oil supplies were expected to be lean or uncertain, than the price of oil futures and options go up. If crude oil supplies were expected to be high and less uncertain, than the price of oil futures and options go down. The increase in the price of gasoline after Katrina is all based on what they THINK will happen to the supply of oil in this country. Bullshit.
Clinton signed a bill that prevented the exploration of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. WTF?! It was set aside specifically for that very thing as the “Naval Petroleum Reserve” in 1923!!!! Dumbass. It’s estimated that there is about as much economically recoverable oil in the NPR as we buy from Saudi Arabia in about 5 years. Here is a website to check out. This is the Department of Interior, not some idiot spouting his irrational, ill-informed opinion.

We wouldn’t have to stop buying from Saudi Arabia, we could just supplement out oil supplies during times like this. Then maybe oil companies would stop shitting their pants and driving the price of gasoline so high. Fuckers.
That’s just my 2 cents…or $50 when adjusted for inflation and the prediction that future supplies of my opinion will be unpredictable.
