  • Katrina means "Purity"

    People should heed these warnings.

    http://www.minutemenunited.org/modul...=print&sid=323

Many are wondering aloud why God would allow such a horrible catastrophe to befall our nation. But as a wise man once said, "words mean things". Is it possible that the Lord is trying to send a message to our nation? A year ago when hurricane Ivan was threatening New Orleans, many church leaders were crying out to the Lord for mercy, for salvation for New Orleans, for a turn from sin. At the last hour, Ivan tracked to the east and the "Big Easy" was spared. The name Ivan is Russian for John, and means "God is Gracious."

A year later, after New Orleans refused to head the warning of God, hurricane Katrina visited her wrath upon the city. What is little reported is that the storm hit on the eve of the nation's largest gathering ever of homosexuals and deviant sexual behavior in the city of New Orleans. Southern Decadence (www.southerndecadence.com) was to kick off on August 31 with the blessing of the leaders of the city. Long the cesspool of America, New Orleans was flooded by Katrina. It is interesting to note that Katrina is German for Katherine which means "purity or cleansing."

New Orleans City Council President Oliver Thomas has seen what Katrina has done to his city. "Maybe," he has noted, "God's going to cleanse us."

This columnist has talked to many serious Christians about the tragedy of Katrina and the devastation it has wrought on Mississippi and Louisiana. The camps of thought seem two: God doesn't do things like this; and, God may well have done it, given the "sin city" nature of New Orleans and the casino-blighted coastline of Mississippi.

It is most unpalatable, of course, to suggest divine wrath. But biblically there is such a thing, and to assume that such Godly interference with evil will never happen again in our "enlightened" age is folly. New Orleans, for one, was one formidable "sin city." To begin the litany of God-mockery is to wonder where to finally stop: the occult and voodoo, Mardi Gras and the annual Southern Decadence festival (basically a homosexual Mardi Gras), ten times the national average of murders, a reputation for the worst government corruption, casinos with their bribes of public officials, the famous Bourbon Street which has evolved into a long line of porn shops and strip joints, police officers so uncommitted as to join in recent looting, and a city heaving with crime.

Perhaps it is just coincidence, but "Katrina" comes from the Greek which means "purity." New Orleans could use some of that.

It now has a tremendous opportunity.

What god had to do to New Orleans had nothing to do with religion. Religion is man made, God is God and can't be explained with logic as some of you more intelligent type try to do. This is why most engineers don't believe in God, because it isn't logical to do so.

Yes your right, a natural event that has happened for millions of years is the work of god because he wanted to clean up New Orleans from a big gay party. lol. Now that is logic!

And none of it can be proven nor disproven but you thumpers sure are confident about how it all translates into reality.

Not confident, but I feel that it is a sign. A sign of things to come. Similar to the sign of the great tsunami that occurred one day after christ's birthday last year. Every year, there are less and less believers, more scientologists, atheists, non believers than ever before. These natural disasters are signs, warning signs. I fear California is next.

For those of you who read the bible, it speaks of wrongs becoming viewed as rights (adultrey, wife swapping, atheism, homosexuality etc... are all becoming accepted as "ok"). Once this starts, so will the natural disasters.

Does it say anything in there about judging others? Who are you to say whats wrong or right?

Then I'd tell you it would be in your best interest to change your mind to get your newborn baptised and quit trying to be funny by using God's name in vain. Not very wise my friend.

I believe the bible says whats wrong or right. And if it says adultery is wrong, then it is wrong, simple. I can't judge people but I can say what is right and wrong in God's eyes.
