  • has your life gone anything like you planned??

When I was younger and at school, I saw myself ending up as a PE teacher at a high school during the week and playing top level rugby as well. Everything I did was pointing toward this goal. When I was 15 - 17, I was training 6 days a week, including weights, training with different squads I was in etc...but now I am 27 and it would seem that I am doing things I never even considered.

    Anyone living their adolescent dream??

Nope not one thing i had planned when i was younger is in my life . Well one thing I have a wonderful son. But I planned to have a great job and have a wonderful wife and a nice big house. Well One out of three is not al lthat bad i guess. My job is good just would rather be doing something else. Just got divorced so the whole wonderful wife thing is out the window. But like i said i wanted a Son and I have the most wonderful 2 year old boy one could ask for. Now he is my life.

I am a complete opposite of what I said I was going to do when I grew up. I don't think that many people actually do what they plan.

Is funny cause my best friend has followed his life plan almost to the letter, apart from he got married at 20 instead of 18. A large majority of my friends have stayed very much on track to what they always planned, but have never left our home town and never lived away from their folks too far.

I started to think perhaps I was the weird one by moving away at 18, coming back at 24 and living in a few different places in between, and not oding the job I told everyone in high school I was going to do.

Good to know I am not so unique

Our desires change as our perspectives on life develop and our experiences mold us... Damn, put it like this, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a fighter pilot, lol (too many movies I guess). As a teenager, I had major issues with authority, probably because of the fact that I was into some serious shit, so the military idea was out... Late teens, on my own, I always managed to make things happen at the last minute when I needed to, so I figured it would all just come together for me. Now, at 24, with a whole world out there to learn from and an infinite amount of knowledge to try and benefit from, I have different aspirations. I'd like to finish my education, for starters... Didn't much care about that in highschool or the year of college I decided to take at 19 (hell, the cash from selling had to go somewhere), so thats changed... Don't have the connections to go into the acting industry or the inclination to start at the bottom and work up to it, which is something else I contemplated as a teen.

Long story short... no, I'm not where I expected to be or imagined I might be... my life is rich with experiences from all the shit I was involved with and I feel Doom when he says "I'm amazed I'm still alive.", but you live and learn... lessons learned = time well spent. I feel good about the path I'm walking now, thats whats important.

well the only thing i have planned is to be debt free by the time i reach 25.

im 23 right now and so far i have paid off my brand new 2003 car, paid off my entire school loans (Except one little one that will be finihsed by the end of this year) and paid off all major credit card debts.

i always figured id be in some kind of technical field even as a child and im an engineer so that part came true...........does that make me a predicatable and boring person?????

My life is the complete opposite of what I imagined it to be...

But I couldn't be happier as to the way things have turned out so far!!

Not me, never would have imagined being in the air force, and now that I'm in, I wouldn't have it any other way!
