  • BCS Standings......

    Longhorns fans can relax.

After much concern over whether Texas would be leapfrogged in the initial BCS standings by Virginia Tech, the Longhorns were in the No. 2 spot when the first set of standings were released on Monday.

If the standings hold, Texas will be the lone roadblock standing between USC and an unprecedented third consecutive national championship. The Trojans, who are ranked No. 1 in the USA Today and Harris Interactive polls and in four of the six computer rankings employed by the BCS, hold down the top spot.

Virginia Tech, Georgia and Alabama rounded out the top five -- all five of which are undefeated. And while Georgia and Alabama could potentially meet in the SEC championship, it's still possible for four of those top five teams to finish the regular season without a loss.

    1 USC .9923
    2 Texas .9591
    3 Virginia Tech .9067
    4 Georgia .8933
    5 Alabama .8220
    6 LSU .7078
    7 Texas Tech .7034
    8 Miami (FL) .6928
    9 UCLA .6675
    10 Penn State .5860
    11 Florida State .5682
    12 Boston College .5113
    13 Oregon .4772
    14 Wisconsin .4648
    15 Ohio State .4259
    16 Notre Dame .3985
    17 West Virginia .3562
    18 Auburn .3210
    19 Tennessee .2905
    20 Florida .2799
    21 TCU .1972
    22 Minnesota .1371
    23 Nebraska .1296
    24 Michigan State .0971
    25 California .0821

If the Tide were to lose to any one left on their schedule it wouldn't be Auburn....if they lose it will be to LSU or Tennessee. Not Auburn!

considering they barely beat ole miss. and this is the iron bowl, the whole state pretty much shuts down that weekend, and it's in auburn, they're only tough away game. LSU and Tenn are in Tuscaloosa. Auburn having one lost to GT the first game of the season, Brandon Cox's first start of his career. Not to mention having 4 running backs at the beginning of the season, now cut down to 2. Just came off an away game win at Arkansas 34-17 (Bama beat them 24-13 at home). Not to mention bama losing 34% of it's total yards/game with Prothro out. And DJ Hall nursing bruised ribs.
On another note, go seminoles good game against Virginia!

Brodie Croyle will not end the season with a loss, and especially not a loss to Auburn. Besides, Auburn doesn't have Cadillac to carry them any longer. Auburn will have two more losses by the time the Iron Bowl comes around....@LSU and @Georgia.

that's if brodie croyle can even finish a season... so far he hasn't finished one season since his junior year in high school, he won't make it out of october. not to mention w/o protho last week, his longest pass was 26 yds, and he threw no tds... but there's no point in arguing about it... we'll see... (oh yeah, auburn won the last 4/5 against bama) and auburn has only lost one game to bama in Auburn where as bama has lost every game to Auburn in Tuscaloosa
by the way, cadillac only had 40+ yds against bama last year, so i guess i'm missing where he carried us...
but im starting to like k.irons, coming off a 180+yd game against Ark... so far he's averaging more yds/carry than darby and has 2.5 times as many td's
not impressed with LSU either... it was 12-6 going into the 4th against Vandy.. but death valley is a tough place to play at

:thumbsdow Kind of easy for you to say that now, when in 1999 Auburn was to chicken shit to start the season off playing FSU! At least Louisiana Tech wasn't afraid to step up for you and take an ass whoopin'.
