I was reading a biography of Ivan Lendl, the great tennis player from a few years ago. Lendl, as everyone probably knows, took conditioning, practice, etc. to a scientific level that was probably unique in those days and I was very impressed with this quote of his:
"If I don't practice the way I should, then I won't play the way that I know I can."
I am going to frame this quote and place it on my piano.
