Rockstar: Supernova

Anyone catch this? It's Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (Metallica), and Gilby Clark (Guns n' Roses) looking for a lead singer to front their new project/band "Supernova."

The heart of the show is cool (the actual singing and criticism) but it's like a huge Verizon marketing program. It's basically a smaller scale, rock n roll Amercian Idol.

I watched some of last weeks, first time watching the show.......I liked it. One of the guys singing (in the bottom 3) sounded so terrible, lol

Oh man. All of them in the bottom 3 sucked, but that Chris guy is fkn terrible.

Yeah her performance was wild, but her voice sucked. I knew Tommy would be all nuts over her...

The band has a great base with all those superstars, but I think whoever they get from this as a lead singer will be their weak point. The band has potential to do well, but if they don't, then it'll be from the lead singer.

The potential is definitely there w/the talent of the existing 3. But it could still go to shit w/a good lead singer. Depends on the song writing and producing.

Look at Metallica now. Absolutely incredible talent, but their songwritng sucks, musical scores suck and the producer makes it even worse.

Hopefully, w/Gilby Clark in the mix he will bring it together. He wrote the majority of GnR's music on Appetite for Destruction, Lies, and Use Your Illusion.

Hopefully they do well, but I also wonder if they'll have a personality clash between the three of them. They're all from pretty much the same genre and era of music so I guess we'll see.

I have no idea how the hell Chris made it that far, the guy was terrible. To be honest none of them are overly impressive. Out of all of them, I like Lukas and Dilana. They're the only two that would really fit the group.
