I was at Team Universe this weekend, and one of my fiancée's fellow competitors (actually, they all have the same trainer) came and sat next to me after her 1-pc figure round. She asked me how she looked, and I began with "well I thought you looked good..." and she cut me off right away and said "be honest."
What that reminded me of is the frank, direct way competitors sometimes like to know how they did. Right then I realised she ceased being a girl sitting next to me, and instead became someone who, like me, was objectively describing her physique
My question is, if someone like this posted her (or his) pictures here, could you be as critical as she wanted me to be? Or would you say "wow, you look great!" or "nice job," and all that. The trick is, while she does look great (and did well), her placing could have been higher
Any thoughts?
