I recently (wish it was much sooner) came across (or payed attention too) ING Direct. It's free to open an account and you can link it to 3 other checking accounts. I then transfered all but a few hundred dollars of my savings from Bank of America into my ING account. It's rediculous. BofA's interest rate on savings acct's is 0.20% APY while ING's is 4.5% APY. Kind of a no brainer once you have the option.
The money I'm not using to invest is just sitting in an account somewhere so why not get as much as I can out of it, right?
