either way, there is quite a few people here that don't care to even joke about rec drugs. We just thinks is pointless and immature. Hopefully you will stick around to learn everyone's "tone". It's good to have some more knowledge around.

    Well Bro,
I think that was a bit judgmental…….don’t you think??

But before I reply, I need to say to Bouncer and blm…..much appreciated the words Bros.

But to be perfectly honest with you all……..
I just said I was kidding out of respect for this board because I concluded this wasn’t the right “forum”.

But since this is becaming an "issue".....……
and the "thinks is pointless and immature" comment.....
I need to stand by orginal comment......

I would rather see him/her/they smoke a little then get hooked on some anxiety medicine such as Xanax, Valium, Librium, Tranxene, Klonopin, Centrax, Ativan , Serax and any other Benzodiazepines I may have not mention.

    HOOKED??? WTF????

Ever seen what the withdrawal symptoms are??? We won’t even go into potential for the development of tolerance, dependence, and potential for abuse.

Withdrawal symptoms may occur upon discontinuing these medications, and may include anxiety, shakiness, headache, dizziness, sleeplessness, loss of appetite and in severe cases, fever, seizures and psychosis.

My wife had a severe case…….it wasn’t pretty.

    But that’s ok with you????

But hey, it’s not your fault……you’ve been "trained" very well. And you listen well to what big brother and Pharmaceutical companies tell you.

And how could you not with the constant bombardment of messages they send you…….take this for that and that for this……and we have the good stuff!!! Your body will love our drugs so much it won’t know how to behave without it!!!! All you have to do is go see our buddy the doctor, whom we also trained ;) And you too, can be giving us thousands of dollars as you consume more and more.

What??? You want to get off the drugs??? Welllllll, we have a pill to help you with that too ;)

Did you realize that Xanax was the #9 drug prescribed in 2005! And this is a list that the drugs that beat it was Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, Amoxicillin, and Lipitor (isn’t this commercial on all the time?).

    Total Xanax Prescriptions - 34,230,000!

    Seen Xanax new slogan???

Xanax …..…… “More get on and less get off”

    Profit Making Dream.......

    Lot of money. A lot……. A lot.

34,230,000 times how much $ per script?
    Lot of money.....yes sir.

And BTW…..who was talking about “rec drugs” to begin with???

This just proves my point on "training"? You hear "smoke some sticky icky" and what comes to mind???
Marijuana....rec drug...No NO NO NO NO.

But if you looked at the context I said it for........
even though I said it in a joking manner......you should have realized I was talking about medical Marijuana....

And since I pointed out the withdrawal syptoms of Xanax, i guess to would only be fair to point out the withdrawal symptoms of Marijuana...
    Ummmmm…......ummmmmmm
    ummmmm.......you get hungry???

Also, with Marijuana, you don’t have to smoke every day……or be afraid that you will go into seizures or psychosis if you miss a dosage.

But hey, that’s just my opinion. And you have yours.

All I can hope for is that people will be opened minded and ignore the little voice in the background……

You know the one I am talking about…..shhhhhh, listen……..you can hear it………..????

No??? Ok…….listen closely. I’m going to say a word and you will hear them.

    Ready???

    STEROIDS!!!!

    Hear them???

    Its Big Brother ;)

i can agree with that. to many people popping pills for everything today. im not going to put down anyone for taking anxiety meds or anything like that, I just dont feel comfortable taking that kind of thing. on the other hand, you wont find me smoking weed either. i would however consider marijuana to be a safer bet compared to some of these meds they have out today. the only thing for me is steroids. lol

p.s. shibby is just looking out for the board. we have had problems in the past with idiots postings all kinds of shit about various drugs and such..

Good post....except for this here. I'm just asking because I hear this all the time and it doesn't make any sense to me. What's the difference between Marijuana and "medical" Marijuana? As far as I know, there one and the same. Clarifying that it's "medical" marijuana sounds like a weak justification.

But I agree with the rest of your post. It seems that there's a pill for everything and someone willing to perscribe it for every problem. It's a shame. You're right, there's alot of money in the pharmacuetical industry and my question is, How much of it was made selling people shit they don't need?

The only part I disagree with is that there isn't marijuana withdrawal. I saw how my brother was when he tried to stop smoking (he smoked at least an ounce a day though) and he was not a person you wanted to be around.

Although it has never been proven and there is no proven chemical depenancies I disagree with that. I smoked for nearly 10 yrs and although I have no desire to do it I still have periods of time where I crave it and actually contimplate smoking it. I honestly have to go through the personal pros and cons in my mind to keep myself from doing it. Basically anyone I talk to that has a long history w/it says they go through a lot of the same things. Granted its not this gripping "I'm going to kill someone or have a nervous breakdown" if I don't get some weed feeling but it is definitely a form of withdrawal, imo.

I actually have a question similar to Bouncer's. This started in December when the wife and I went on a 10 day cruise and had to do alot of walking. I developed this pain down the outside of my knee that acted up anytime we did alot of walking. It started to burn after a while too. I was also helping a friend move a few days ago and that same knee started to hurt whenever I went up and down stairs. I played basketball later that day and that burning pain down the outside of my knee came back. It feels fine when I lift and it doesn't feel like it's going to give out when I twist on that leg. I do sit at a desk all day. Is this something that could be caused by the muscles being tight? Would stretching throughout the day prevent this from happening? I'm going to see my massage therapist today, so I'll ask her. Have any of you ever experienced that before?

Is it your knee or your shins? I was thinking possibly shin splints.

It's my knee. I think it's the lateral collateral ligament of my left knee. The pain doesn't extend down to my shins, it starts at the bottom of my hamstring and runs down the outside of my knee to the top of my calf.

The pain from walking up and down stairs feels like it's right under my kneecap. That scares me because that's where your crutiate ligaments are. I wonder if it could be some kind of tendonitis or something. The pain isn't constant, it just tends to occur when I walk for long distances, run, jump or climb stairs.

I went to the massage therapist office today and they didn't put me in the computer when they set the appointment, so I have to wait until the 27th to get in again. :cursin: That's annoying.

OK, I just got back from the chiro. He pushed and pulled testing the crutiate and collateral ligaments in my knee and no pain anywhere so there's no damage to any of the ligaments. The problem is muscular. He said the fascia of my upper quad was probably getting tight and gave me some stretches for it. He also said that doing partial leg extensions, from the bottom to half way up, will strengthen the muscles and ligaments around the knee better. When your leg is fully extended, the upper and outer quads are doing most of the work. I think I'll try that and some aerobic exercise.

I don't have a manual on me but I think he has that backwards - I believe the "teardrop" muscles are better stimulated during the last 15-20 degrees rom in the knee extension exercise - don't hold me to it but I'm pretty sure that's backwards...

This is good to know either way though - I think mindstar and I had this conversation before - did he say anything about potential patellar tracking dysfunction resulting if you don't fix this?
