I work at a golf course and a bunch of fuck 16 and 17 year old fuckers work with the golf carts. There was one in particular who had a little bit of little man syndrome with me. He would fuck around and try to push me all the time. Sometimes he would even like grab me from behind and shit just playing around. Problem is I don't like playin around like that. To me there is nothing in between just being calm and relaxed, (like I am 99% of the time) and some serious fuckin problems. One day I was ringing someone up on the register when he comes behind me and hits me in the kidney. I laughed it off but as soon as the customer left I grabbed him by his throat and threw him down 8 feet of stairs. Since I had seen him smoking weed on the job before he didnt say shit to the big boss man. He hasnt fucked with me since, he wont even look me in the eyes.

Anyway, just make it clear to this little bastard that you dont like playing around that. Its just not what some people are all about, including myself. But you actually have to physically show him. Telling him to stop and making threats will only egg them on and make it worse. But it sounds like you have a more serious job than I do so I'd handle it outside of work or rat his ass out. (I'm not really a big fan of the second option but its better than getting fired or arrested.)

you hitting him would be perceived in the mind of any HR person as the equivalent of mike tyson smacking a little old grandmother around... you'll lose that situation and then he'll talk smack to all his friends about getting you fired. What you need to do is sit down w/ him and a third, neutral party (HR if possible), explain that it frustrates and annoys you and have HR explain that even the semblance of violence in the workplace cannot be tolerated.

I know this all sounds like it should end w/ "and then everyone gets to talk about their feelings..." but any situation in which you react aggressively is one which you would lose.
