my comcast gave us a boost because they are afraid of verizon fios in my area. they don't want us switching. sometimes i can get like 10,000 kb/s

I have AT&T dsl.This is the fastest they offer right now.It is rock solid day or night unlike a cable modem that is a shared technology meaning you share your bandwidth with your neighbors.My ping times to this server look kinda high.I usually use www.speakeasy.net/speedtest .

Cleveland would be close but Cinci is 150 miles more than MD away according to the site. The wireless wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it? What I find interesting is that my uploads are so much faster than my downloads.

pretty odd. can you try connecting it directly to your modem and testing? hell dude, i think the minimum comcast guarantees is 1500k down. try finding a few different speed test online. if they all say the same thing, i would call comcast because you are not getting what you pay for.

ok, now I'm really confused. When I went to turn of my wireless and turn on the direct, I noticed 2 connections that were wireless in my "network connections". They is only one now and I retested it and this is what I got with wireless
