so back to the weather. its cold as hell but i aint turning on the heat. gas bill is fucking crazy when i turn the heat on. i would rather freeze then pay that shit.

I have gas water and heat, so 85% of time it is virtually nothing. In the winter my power bill sand gas bills flip-flip.

Thick of the heat - what's the temp there?

It hasn't rained in more than a week - very unusual for late October in the PNW. The clear skies are driving the temperature below freezing every night over here. I don't know what you guys are complaining about - it is below 40 and sunny when I take the train and do the 20 minute walk from the train station to work every morning - the birds are chirping (at least the ones that haven't migrated yet), my ears tingle from the cold and I can see my breath. Couldn't get any better! I'd have this any day over the hot muggy stuff. I'm never moving east of the Rockies again - too used to sub 20% humidity.

83 and rainy here today. There is a real nice cool breeze though. It feels like the wether is starting to break, but not quite yet :(

Get a warm mist humidifier - central heating dries out the air in the house, plus modern homes are so airtight and vapor tight that nothing gets in from outside.
