You know, rado, just because you have something controversial to say doesn't mean you should say it. Calling our president Bozo the clown is disrespectful at best and frankly, I think anyone who uses their freedom of speech to do something like that should be shot. I'm perfectly serious. He is our leader, after all, and his office, at the very least, should command a certain amount of respect, regardless of what you think of him as a person. I thought Clinton was just about the worst kind of human being and should have been put in jail like the criminal he was, but you didn't catch me calling him names in public. i respectfully disagree with you man. i don't think it is a presidents right to have the peoples respect. i think that when a president makes so many dangerous blunders, it is the right of the people to stand up let it be known. i don't see how rado's avatar is anything different then the daily show or the 100's of other shows etc that make fun of bush.

The thing is that the Constitution gives him the title of "Commander in Chief". As such, he outranks all military personel and even has the right to assume battlefield command. Respect for that position is not optional. The people do have a right to stand up and disagree with the President, but we should still show respect for the position that he was elected to. To fail to do so is to cheapen it.

i do understand what you are saying. i do however feel that respect for that position is optional. he may outrank all military personal because our law says so. but that dosent mean i have to give him more respect then Generals and even the lowest ranking soldiers. i feel respect is earned no matter who you are.

I really don't, honestly. Of course I've heard/seen Bush jokes, but I just don't think they are funny. I don't think anyone has to like him (or whoever holds the title), but I have always shown respect for whomever is in office. I'm not vocal like BB, but personally speaking, I do think it's incredibly disrespectful.
