Can you plead innocent and then they have to prove to a jury or judge (while you have a lawyer) your "intent"? I could see a lawyer getting it plea bargained or dismissed pretty easy.

A lawyer came and spoke to my frat last year and I am going to talk to him this week. I'm having a lawyer I know call him and see what she thinks of him. Hopefully this can all be worked out. Apparently PA has a program or something that might expunge it from my recored, but it would most likely delay my deployment or even worse it might push back when I can go to boot camp...again.

There are too many holes in that story (legally) you definitely need to talk to a lawyer. This won't keep you from ever being in the Marines, but you are right, it may post pone it. Don't sweat that. Take care of your legal issues now and if you truly want to be a Marine then you will be.

Above you said you didn't think much of it because you do it all the time :dunno:

I hope it all works out. I think at worst, you'll be delayed.

I buy for the parties we throw at our house. I'm one of 3 brothers that is 21 and the other two are lazy. I suppose its a mix of both. I don't do it a lot, but I don't think much of it because its so common that I see them drinking. I dunno. I guess I do it more than I thought.

It was, but it's done now. Just carry on as you were, and take the measures required to get it taken care of. Don't let it deter you, that will only cause you to make other mistakes. You'll be okay :)

So this all come to fruition, and apparently it looks like I will get accepted to ARD on Apr 7th or so. Then I have to wait 1 year to finish ARD and 6 months to expunge this from my record. I'm never going to be able to join the Marines at this rate...

You know I'm not actually gay, right? I just don't buy into the 'stereotypical' male image, right? :)

Not to say I haven't thought exactly what you just wrote...

but, hell that could be almost any male dominated profession...

yea, like i said, i could be wrong. its hard to say without coming across like i am talking shit. i have all the respect in the world for the Military but a large majority of our military is made up of people that don't have all the opportunities in the world. a large part of the people come from families that don't have a lot of money. not all but in many cases this is the case. i guess i don't understand what your interest in the Military is. you seem like a person that is more interested in business and politics and you come from a well off family from what I know. are you trying to prove something to yourself or no?

Prove something to myself...eh, I don't know. I actually have never understood what that means. This is the best way I can explain my reasoning for wanting to join the military. I felt like after high school I should go to college, and I've felt like after college I should join the military. I don't know how to explain it, it just feels like the right thing to do.

Does that mean I want to prove that I can do it? I have no idea. Of course I am concerned about the impact on my life, it just hard to put into words how I feel about it. Other than to say it feels like something I should do.

Maybe its because so many of my relatives are military personnel. I don't know. I think the thing that makes it hardest for me to join is I don't agree with the action we are taking in Iraq, politically.

Sorry for the jumble you kind of got it as it came out...

IMO, joining the military is an honor not to be taken lightly. Not only that but it will be part of your every waken moment for the next 4 years, at least. If it is truly what you want to do with your life bro, I encourage and support that whole heartedly. If not, don't do it. It isn't something you can go into half assed. Its all or nothing. just my 2cents.
