  • People that beat their dogs....

...piss me the fuck off. I'm out of town but I got a call from my girlfriend today and this is what she tells me. She was pumping gas today and a rottweiler came up to her. She was cautious, but after she realized the dog was nice, she started petting her. Not only would the dog let her pet it, but it was shaking, and getting really low to the ground like she was terrified of people. So she started petting the dog, which was whimpering a little but still letting her love on it. And the dog was trying to get in her car, almost begging her to take it with her. Just as she noticed about a 4 inch scar on the dog's forehead, the older couple in the house next to the gas station started calling the dog. As soon as the dog heard their voices, it went around my girlfriend, as low as it could and got on the other side of her, trying to get her to protect it. The older gentleman, obviously the dogs owner, yelled out to my girlfriend and asked her to hold on to the dog until he got there. Reluctantly, she held the helpless dog until the man got over there and forcefully dragged the dog back home, while screaming at it. She described the dog as "terrified" when the guy got over there. It wasnt just because she called me in tears telling me this story that pissed me off. How the fuck can people treat dogs like this? How the fuck does that make people feel better? I don't like fighting, and it takes a lot to get me there, but if I would have been present in a situation like this i definately would have swung for the fences at this mother fucker. What can you even do in a situation like this as it is now? If you call animal control, what will even happen? Wont the dog probably get put to sleep? I'm half tempted to steal the dog right out of their back yard, but I cant afford another animal right now. Shit like this pisses me off and people like this piss me off even more. If you want to beat an animal, buy a cat!

I fucking hate people like that they need the get beat the same way they beat their dogs. I think you should call the animal control I also think in cases like this you can even call the cops, they always help the abused animals they won't put the dog down if the dog is friendly which in this case she abviously is they'll just find her a new home.

Definately calling them first thing in the morning. I would just steal it myself if i had the money to take care of two dogs.

                I completely agree...

One thing to remember about dogs, is that in breeds like rotty, pit, am bull, am staff, certain breedings produce skitish dogs. My american bulldog has a perticular bloodline in him that makes him reluctant to approach people. Fear for a better word. I love animals and have only punished my dog when appropriate, but if I raised my hand to him he would cowar...

These breeds have aggression in their genetics, and people (uneducated breeders) breed other lines into them to counter this aggression. Creatiting an unstable dog. Just my .02!

Be careful bro, with all the pit attacks that flood the news, the authorities are more likely to put the dog down than you think.

I equate mollosar brred dogs with steroids when it comes to media attention. They never receive anything but negative press and it effects the way people think about them (even though most people have never encountered them)...

My GF's parents have two full blooded American Pitts and they are two of the friendliest most playful dogs I have ever been around. Love em to death. I do agree with the very bad reputation of some dogs and this makes me scared that calling animal control will just result in getting the dog put down. But as much as that sucks to think about, maybe its better than what it is living through now. :(

Thats really interesting. I have a boxer and she gets cowers if I make a pissed off nose or give her a look. You can tell by the look in her eyes that she is scared. It actually helps me calm down sometimes because I feel bad that I'm making her worried.
