Well you said you haven't played one or seen one if forever and you named the Nintendo. It just sounds like something that came from The Department of Redundancy Department. :)
Just so this isn't some Rado moment where I interject, nothing... I will let you know I'm not much help. As much as I want a game system I haven't owned one in about 8 years and haven't played one in about 4 years. I use to waste too much time on games, when I had that time. I don't have it now so it would just get me in trouble. I did play the Xbox and it had some good sports games, other than that I just played Halo 1.
The Xbox can do so much more in terms of multi-media.
:)
Like what?
We just bought the 80gig PS3 and it plays DVDs, Blu-Ray movies, stores pics, video, plays games, has WiFi, internet browser, multicard reader up front etc...
What does the 360 do that the PS3 doesn't?
And as far as depth of titles go the 360 has been out a year longer than the PS3, it's naturally going to have more games available. That won't be true much longer though.

It's been my understanding that the PS3 doesn't work as a media extender, or at least my limited knowledge of it hasn't allowed me to yet. Instead of storing only a portion of my media on the console...(80 gigs is TINY)...I can connect my Xbox to the computer and stream any number of video / audio media to it. Card reader/wifi mean nothing to me.
As for the power of the PS3. Everyone is amazed by it, but its not utilized if you ask me. There are no better looking games on the PS3 than on the 360. Sony was hedging on their lineage with this. I think they did a terrible job on the PS3 and I have been unsatisfied in comparison to the 360.

I had to ebay a wii. I started looking before Thanksgiving. I still look when I go in the stores, but usually get the we had 15 in last night and were gone in an hour! It will be worth it when I see my children's faces on Christmas morning!
I have a friend who has a Nintendo Wii. He swapped out a chipset on the board and is now able to download "backup games" and burn to a dvd. If I was buying a gaming system, I'd buy one that is hackable and that you can get games cheap for.
Just my .02....

The PS3 will be alot better when you can play downloaded games on it off of a HDD. Like I do with my PS2.

My friend just showed me the update to allow you to use the PS3 as a media extender. lol.
