  • Good lifting, nutrition books?

So my mom got me a sports psychology book for christmas. She didn't know that I already had that particular book so I am taking it back, and was wondering what is a good weightlifting, BBing, nutrition, etc. book to buy. I have looked at Ronnie's book before but I didnt know how many other good one's there were. Any suggestions???

I thought that the Ultimate Diet 2.0 by Lyle McDonald is an excellent read. I just purchased it about a month ago and the information there is phenomenal - just getting ready to implement some of the things that he recommends. My only quibble is that the book is a slim 60 pages or so, more like a pamphlet, and at $24, it is probably page-for-page one of the most expensive books I have ever purchased.

There is a wrestler that wrote a book called "Triple H Making the Game: Triple H's Approach to a Better Body"
I read a few pg's of it at a book store and it looked good, gives u some good splits and an effective diet.

Lyle McDonald is good but most of his stuff is free online. I really don't think any book has more to offer then the common info and basics that work. People are always looking for some magic routine ya know.

the encyclopedia of bodybuilding by arnold is an interesting read. its a thick book, lists every exercise, and shows some of his splits.

Totally agree on this one. Arnold's book is a must-have for any BB enthusiast, I think... if nothing else, for just the photographs.

I have the older 1987 edition, not the new 1999 edition. I don't know what is new in the 1999 edition but the older edition is awesome - lots of pictures of the legends like Columbu, Zane and other contemporaries of Arnold as well as lots and lots of pictures of the man himself.

the 87 edition is probably better. they probably edit some steroid references and added in a bunch of muscle tech ads or some shit. lol

I don't know. The new one is thick as hell. Can't say I looked actively for steroid info in it, but when I began it was great for exercise explanations/nutrition. There has to be something...
