  • Help me buy a laptop..

Next week I will start my shopping for a laptop. I like the macbook because it has so many features especially the vid cam, hah! I also like the Gateway and HP..

Thoughts anyone? There is also the new mac book air, but that is way out of my price range.

I just need it for personal use, you know to surf SM :P and email, pictures, etc.

    see this thread. http://www.superiormuscle.com/forums...ptop-computers

I ended up with a pretty nice notebook computer for my needs for $399. that was during the holidays though so you might not be able to find a deal like that.

    Dell Vostro

    Dual Core Processor

    2gb DDR2 Memory (I upgraded)

    120gig Hard Drive

Vista Home Premium (I ordered home basic but they upgraded me for free)

I like macs and all but it would be a waste of money for me. I use my computer for basic stuff.

i just bought a new macbook pro w/leopard. i got one that was fully loaded and was far from cheap. but there are entry-level macbooks with a decent performance:price ratio. after owning a mac, i don't think i'll ever buy a PC again. i bought the macbook pro only a few months after buying one of Dell's flagship XPS notebooks - the mac is SO much more fun to use...

keep in mind WW that he uses his computer for all kinds of shit. no doubt that macs are great but if you are anything like me in how you use your computer, it would just be a waste of money to get a mac. kind of like buying a Ferrari and only ever driving it in NYC traffic.

I hear ya... i like the mac because yep it is FUN to use.. my niece has one and its pretty cool, but that would require me to read the instructions when I have a problema. I just want it for everyday use, email, internet @ panera or starbucks, lol.. and for my daughter to use as well.. oh heck, I might have to get her one for herself, she never likes to get off the puter.

GEEZ.. so I might as well get 2 for the price of one MAC. See I think BIG :D

do you even know what cliché means? if you think it fits this context, obviously not.

i think it used to be trendy to have a mac, but with the release of the santa rosa chipset and leopard, osx is becoming a much more viable option. any company who gains 4.2% of market share in 6 months after having been stalled around 3-4% for years...well, that's more than a trend. you'll start seeing a LOT more macs around if microsoft doesn't get its shit together in a big hurry.

I really recommend staying away from a Mac unless you want to spend a few hundred dollars on their Apple Care because something will most certainly go wrong with the hardware. That has been my experience. IMO, you would be much better off buying an XP machine for cheap from Dell or HP.

Most malls have a dell kiosk, you should check the malls near you.

this post has nothing to do with the the thread. you see what happened rado, you took the thread in a different direction. this is the kind of shit i am sick of. you knew goliath had a mac and you wanted to take a jab. dont do it again.
