what a bunch of fucking bullshit. if you combine all the current taxes we are taxed at about %60 of our income fuckhead. how much more are you going to squeeze out of the middle class? the government is terrible at spending money they abuse the fuck out of it. how can you have a problem with Iraq and not all the other government waste - entitlement programs (only about %30 of the money for welware actually goes to the individual), buerocrats, government salaries, size of government. NASA had a billion dollar project where they collided a rocket with a meteor. it was fucking cool buy you cant say ones a waste and another isnt. we had a trillion dollar defict since as long as i can remember before both bush or clinton.

Not to mention all of the welfare programs that our money will go towards. Thinking that raising taxes to repay debt is silly.

I'm in the same bind many people are faced with - business is slow, so money is crap. I can't "give" my truck away and then be forced to buy something else - I can't afford to do that. I'm not willing to risk buying a piece of junk, and then having repairs every month that I can't afford.

If I tried to take the bus to work, I'd end up spending as much in fares as I do in gas - and it would probably take me hours to get there.

Now I know all of these sound like excuses to you - but the fact that I'm "all of a sudden" in this bind because of gas prices is incredibly hard to adapt to in a short amount of time.

First off, Clinton eliminated the deficit by sticking to his guns and holding to the 'pay as you go' act. However, government deficits have mainly only developed since WW2. I think Roosevelt actually apologized to the country for running a deficit. There is a way to get us out of deficit if we really wanted to, but Bush is too much of an idiot to do it. I agree it is completely disgusting.

I feel your pain FB. I started my lawn business last year, at the wrong time. Fuel costs have set me back from upgrading my equipment to handle larger properties which means less income.

you wont even get that if you try to sell it. do it now while it still has some value to it. gas prices will continue to rise and your trucks value will drop faster then ever. you are in a now or never situation. the longer you keep the truck the bigger the problem you have.

Actually, Clinton completely erased the deficit George Sr. had left for him. Think back to whenever you can remember a trillion dollar deficit. Can you actually say those were good economic times? I think not. Think back to the 70's when there was another fuel scare and surge in price. Think back to the early 80's when people were paying 12 & 14% on their mortgage rates. Or how about Black Monday??? Deficits make the dollar weaker, and inflation higher. Sorry, I just don't see how having a trillion dollar deficit should be an accepted idea.

People have a problem with the Iraq war because of the over $12 BILLION PER MONTH it takes to maintain our presence there. Entitlement programs, & government salaries don't come anywhere CLOSE to what we are paying daily for this war. No one is saying there isn't other government waste. However, the cost of the Iraq war far outweighs any other government program cost. At least some of those government programs are for US citizens. We have allowed our government to spend $720 billion dollars for something that offers absolutely no benefit to our society. Yet we have done very little to protest this spending. So, BIG deal about government programs and salaries.
