The fact that he wants to get back with his gf is a clear sign he should not. Suppose she realizes this isn't what she wants, and whether you agree or not, he decides he still wants to be with her. Now he's added another person to the mix and a whole new set of problems. A piece of a$$ does not mend a broken heart.
